A Chinese friend is looking for assistance regarding about her 70+ years old Chinese Muslim mother. Her mother is not a practising Muslim and is wants to, how shall I put it... convert back to Buddhism. Please advise on the necessary action to be taken. Thanx!

With no disrespect to yr fren's mum...the court cases thus far had shown that once masuk islam, xboleh keluar...

Old lady best just live with it, to spare the legal tussles and emopain... But there are certain economic advantage if those bodysnatchers (as coined by certain media) choose to fight over the eventual & final resting place for yr fren's muslim mum.

BTW how much is a private buddhist cremation + a small hole in the wall cost nowadays? Is it expensive for the living to pay for the beloved departed! :eek:

Not easy unless you can provide valid reason. Other than the Syariah Court case, she still have to take up with NRD to change the religion status in her IC.

A Q.E.D. case. bcos she married an iranian! my simple mind surmised that Ms.Blur sotong fell for 'Love' while the missing iranian probably used her for lust and citizenship! DUH!

Sad but true...once a muslim, always a muslim. Renouncing Islam = Apostasy in Islam.

I have friends who migrated oversea due to this reason. The muslim guy dating a non-muslim girl. They wanted to get marry. However, the girl refuse to convert to muslim. But the guy love her very much that he willingly migrated to UK with her. They have since happily got married with a beautiful daughter.

An immediate cremation without holding overnight and then ashes scattered is RM3600. A niche in Kg Tunku columbarium is about 3 - 4k. We are looking at approximately 8k for a very simple funeral. Used to wonder why my insurance co provided 10k for funeral expenses....
