Hi,

A colleague recently got diagnosed with gallstones, she went to a specialist at Pantai Hospital and they recommend removal of the gallbladder.

Was wondering whether anyone has any experience or could recommend a a good specialist/hospital that does gallbladder removal? My friend would like to get a 2nd opinion and also to compare cost, as Pantai is estimating RM10k for the operations.

Thanks in advance.

I thought there is a natural way to soften the stones like eating green apples for a number of day and drank olive oil?

About 4 years ago, I was diagnosed to have gallstone. The size of the stone was about 13mm. As usual, my doctor recommended to remove gallbladder. However, someone advised me to take natural herb extract - Dandelion Root. You can get it from GNC. After taking a year, I went for CT scan, the size of gallstone reduced to 8mm. I didn’t go for 3rd scan but today I do not feel any heartburn sensation despite having oily food occasionally.

One caution is that Dandelion Root will increase bile flow. In fact, if you take any bitter food, such as bitter gourd, it increases bile flow which helps to vitalize your liver. As the Chinese say “良药苦口”, in fact this is quite true.

Since it increases bile flow, this may cause gallstone to move and block the bile duct which may cause pain. In that case, the gallbladder may have to remove. Well, since your friend is prepared to remove the gallbladder then why not give a try on Dandelion Root which may help to dissolve. If it doesn’t work then remove the gallbladder. Well, final decision is yours. :)

Modern medicine doesn't work in all cases. Traditional medicine is better.
