Bakun Dam is runnin g into another leaked damn controvesy as reported last month. It is being understood that EPF has invested about 80% in the projects so far and it is not interested to be holding the dam??? Instead it would be sold to the Sarawakian govt interest which could be potentially spinned off to other buyers later and possibly to the foreigners. BTW, the Sarawakian company is not the highest bidder!!! Oh dam it.   http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/highlights/174353-dpm-says-bakun-dam-price-tag-not-fixed-yet.html
Its another huge drain on our resources. Sarawak with all its existing power plants have excess capacity without Bakun. With Bakun they have to moth ball ( or to put in their terms put the existing power plants under maintenance) the existing plants and they still have 2 and a half times more power than they need with just Bakun alone. So they have to invite the environmentally unfriendly industries like aluminium smelting plants to use the excess capacity under the guise of Score and development for the state. Look at what happen to the Rejang river now with the 50 or more kilometers of logs, rubbish and timber offcuts from all the logging activities being dumped into the river and the minister in charge is saying that he will ask the authorities to 'investigate' That to me is the mother of all statements". Another minister is blaming the weather.

I am surprised that they did not say will set up a 'task force' to investigate the matter. Btw, what happen to the task force set up to investigate racial outburst by the teacher? Perhaps they are still waiting for the go ahead from Muhideen!
