A few days ago, I parked at Hotel Sentral Car Park, Brickf*elds for 2 hours.

The parking rates between 6am to 6pm are RM2 for the first hour, RM2 for the subsequent hour and RM5 flat rate after 6pm.

I entered at 547pm and left at 747pm. I thought I should be paying RM4. However, I had to pay RM7. Other parking companies charged by time of entry. This hotel charged by 'block of usage' (RM2 first hour + RM5 since it's after 6pm).

I feel really cheated as I understood subsequent hour means the hour after time of entry. When I called the hotel for clarification, they mentioned nothing can be done to the system.

This is a total rip off and day light robbery. Anyone has experienced this before?

Try parking at KLIA for 2-3days... then you will know the pain!! Many a reason why cars, vans (and even buses, esp during the Haj period) park all over the place 'cept in the parking terminal..

Parking has been, and always will be a damn CASH COW for operators... and only way you get that hotel to change their system or charges; is when a VIP or politician is affected.... otherwise the commoner will have to shuddup and pay...

Then again... VIP/Politicians where got pay parking, ah!! Saman polis pun tak bayar.... ini kan parking fees! Their drivers pay - then claim back... so essentially the taxpayers pay for them la...

When I enter the car park, the fact that I have read the parking rates, means that I accept the terms and condition of parking there.

What makes me upset is when the parking rates mentions one thing and charges another!

Now that is taking customers for a ride and cheating.

This is what we called leaderships by examples. Somebody from the parking lot scam learnt the tricks from our leaders who said one thing with imprinted slogan and do the opposite.
And it is the whole lot - from the beautiful graphic pictures that you see at the mall, you end buying those menu without the sizes of prawns in your noodles! From Pestco to Carefool, there have been at least 20 times in a year where I have to see the manager or CEO with my camera phone that they are selling more what they advertised on the big placard which screamed best buy at RM16 but charged RM18 or RM20 - not lower. :p
It is time you are doing something about it. first the usj.com forum , next to complaining to the trade and enforcement ministry to owning a parking lot that charge accordingly? ;)

Yours truly used to park at the KLIA car park. Many times too. Now smarter, wait outside arrival and departure hall. My retirement fund down quite a bit because of KLIA car park charges. Damned! I should have learned after the 1st time.
