This is a well-written article by MasterWordsmith in his blog arguing against the PM trying to woo back talents to return home to Malaysia... he should instead do things to stop those still leaving the country... read it all HERE! Somebody would be successful in sucking some monies from creating the agency to lure these people. Success in bring back these people? How many would wanna to come back especially those who were rejected by this country even when they have top school exam qualification?
Most who returned comes back for personal reason rather than helping the nation who desserted them over kulitfication. The adopted countries are treating them better than Ketuanan Malaysia who are tagging thier father , them or thier offspring as pendatangs. :p  :p

Pay them global wages. Who is paying? Govt? Or charity-private sector?

I think the writer wrote exactly what's on the mind of most of the rational-thinking Malaysians... why even bother to spend millions of sringgit to attract home talents instead of working on the problem of preventing the local talents now moving out in droves from the country.

The PM and the government should be focusing on removing the present problems of racial polarisation decisively and create an environment to encourage people to stay put in this country... who wants to work in a country where the playing fields ain't level? Or called Si SEpet or Si Botol by senior government officials, for that matter? Being labelled Pendatang is already sick enough but prostitutes and beggars too?

What about being decisive against Nasir Safar? What about being decisive against that headmistress from Kulai? What about those hurtful & divisive remarks from Ibrahim Ali al-Kataki? Or even from ex-PM Tun Apanama al-Kutty?

Solve the local problems first Mr Prime Minister, make the current talents stay and then only those abroad might return... thats so simple! Unless you have a different agenda, no?

In fact Mr PM should tackle the huge numbers migrating every month first. If he is able to stop the migration then there might be a very small chance of those overseas returning.

Here's another opinion on the PM's apparent lip-service to this brain drain issue in The Malaysian Mirror (http://www.malaysianmirror.com/media-buzz-detail/41-opinion/49733-najibs-lip-service-about-brain-drain)

Call me cynical but i think that there is a caveat to the great desire to bring back our talents. I think that push is to convince a certain type of people to come back, if you get my drift. I should not say too much otherwise I get bananaed!!

Even certain type of people are staying put unless there belong to the class of Um putras. After all these years, with NEP, have their lives improve unless they are connected to the UM Putra - Putar club? Doesnt seems so as there is incoming updated version of NEP that keeps on rolling, rolling on the river. Big wheels keeps on spinning, rolling, rolling in the pocket of those Saudari Saudara of the elite club of UM Putera Putar or Puteri Putar :p

That is why i think that this exercise is to try to bring this group of people back but then they tend to forget why this group left in the first place. Rather than fighting the system and be branded as traitors to their own race they have decided with their feet by walking away and I do not think that money would bring them back. the dangling of carrots would not work with these groups. they see through the hippocrisy of the powers that be and all the hype and wayangs and they do not want to be a part of it. Maybe they are just being true to their religious beliefs and would like to practise it with a change in their environment where they need not need to lead a life of lies.
