Motorist are speeding at 50-60km/h along Jln USJ6/4 after turning in from Jln USJ 6/1(the road along Seafield Elemetraty School). The speed limit is 35/kmh as shown on the signage there
This has been a hazard to all of us living around in this area; we have difficulty reversing our vehicles out especially in the rush hours. There have been many near-missed inidents over the years although we have been super cautious.
My neighbours and I had applied separately to MPSJ 2-3 yrs ago while this area was still under MCA rule(Lee Hwa Beng & Umi era)but was rejected. The reasons given are it's the main road and there are speed bumps already.
But in actuality, the 1st bump only appears 12 houses after the junction(in the 1/3 section of the 2nd-block stretch)and is very low. This gives mindless motorists ample distance to accerelate pass the ineffective bump.
Recently our black labrado was run down by a speeding motorist while being walked on the leash along Jln 6/4 10 meters from our house.
This has been a lawless area and the ex-MPSJ authority(Umi) had turned a deaf ear(or blind eye) on this for lousy reasons.
We paid to install a bump ourselves but was demolished in less than a month by supposedly MPSJ officers. We aren't even allowed to help ourselves--isn't this a very sad situation????
On the other hand, there's also no enforcement of the speed limit of 35KM/h by the traffic cops here.
Can we petition to install another EFFECTIVE bump in the middle part of the 1st block to deter hazardous speeding soon enough before anythng untowards happens.
