To be categorized as 'local' need to be 60% in BM. The movie is in mandrian i.e. foreign language hence 'non-malaysian'

Strictly BM... and its 70% not 60%; But there is an appeal to FINAS to reconsider so far no news

Not applicable coz the guideline was introduced in 2XXX hence if PCK was made in M'sia it would have been in the 90s and the stipulation is not retrograde.

From 2XXX onwards all non-Malay movies are considered foreign movies and taxed 20% from revenue not profits!!!

I think only very dedicated ppl would make 'foreign movies' considering the small market, redicilous censor board and 20% cut in revenue from day1

Day in day out we talk about 1Malaysia , we talk about Malay, Chinese and Indian communities as 1Malaysia communities ; Malay mt is Bmalaysia, Chinese mt is Mandarin & Indian mt is Tamil.
Question : Are we classify Mandarin and Tamil as foriegn language ??
Question : Are we classify at our whim and fancy

I wonder ppl can write chinese (mandarin or hua wen) using bahasa malaysia language  , hence to be eligible as ' non-foreign language '

That is why , Brain drain is happening . . . . when are we going to stop ?

Ah Niu failed to get back his RM800,000 tax. Reason being the relevant authority running out of money!

Namewee failed to get even a single sen as whatever he made is deemed foreign because it is hip hop instead of flip flop. Actually they is not rapping in this video , just plain acting either by him or the finas or the MCA politicans who was then in the ministry.

The funds comes from foreign front and not from Satu Malaysia? If I were wannabe producer, I would be inspired to make a movie titled - " Mana Malaysia Ku ". Hopefully Namewee is looking for a cast like the mean chef who can cook up a good storyline. He is mean looking, too. :D

If or when the film wins the awards then only will the rules be changed 'because we recognise and reward talent'!!!. Or in Vijay Singh's case he would not be a world class golfer if we had given him his pr.

If Vijay Singh is from Indonesia, he would be given PR. And they dont have to be world class golfer.

so technically an indon filmwhereby the language used is Bahasa would qualify as a malaysian movie and be eligible for subsidies/support from the gomen? I dont see why not as indon also had been mb.
