First point: When the temperature is too hot (48.9 C) you can only survive for 2 days without water.
Second point: Survivors dehydrate and blood becomes thicker and looses volume. Nobody goes crazy drinking salt water. Limit is about 32oz a day and you can still stay alive.

Assuming they had no water, Edmund should be dehyrated - I don't know if he can still sweat. He'd more likely get heat stroke from the lack of water and no perspiration.

The magic word is "Perspiring" Edmund said they ran out of water three days ago. Therefore, he should have been dehydrated and would not have been perspiring when he jumped aboard and begged for water.

1) Yesterday - today - tomorrow - yesterday - today - tomorrow etc
2) Today must be Wed "today will be as far from Wednesday as today was from Wednesday"
3) so the next day must be Thurs

So you have today-tomorrow-yesterday. There is only three days in a week.

2. today will be as far from Wednesday as today was from Wednesday when the day before yesterday was tomorrow
Today is Wednesday

3. What is the day after this day?
The day after today is tomorrow, so it is Thursday

They then decide to tunnel out. However, they give up with the tunneling because it will take too long. Finally one of the convicts figures out how to escape from the cell.

Coleslaw, there is only 1 clue that unlocks the puzzle and it is

today will be as far from Wednesday as today was from Wednesday when the day before yesterday was tomorrow The furthest day is exactly 7 days away, cannot be 8 or 9 ... so the day that is furthest from a mentioned day is the day itself. Since Weds was mentioned, today has to be also Weds. Geddit? The next clue said it is tomorrow, so add one day to Weds = Thurs.

That is smart but not applicable in this case. As you can see in the question colored red above, the "which bag" had reference to the original ten bags. Good try, though. ;)

Edmund denied making any detailed plans at first but finally broke. He admitted that he hid his plans inside a book at a local library. Page 123 and 124 is back to back in a book. So there is no way he could have hidden it there.

Barry must be right handed since his watch was his left hand. Normally, when you take off your pants, you slide them both off your bums and if you are a right handed person, you will take your right leg out not left. If you are putting on your pants, you will put your right leg in first.

Since Barry was found with his right leg in the pants, he must have been putting on his pants as he correctly said. As for the watch, he could have slept with it on.

Alternatively, Mr Chang could have been right about Barry. If there was a loud sound, why does he have to put on the pants. Shouldn't he have just rushed to where the sound was coming from with his shorts unless of course, he was naked. Even them he could have got a blanket to wrap him and hopped outside.

The 3 sets of print belong to Naka, Murphy and Edmund.
Gomer cannot walk and probably never left the house. There isn't enough info in the story to say how Gomer got his food for example ... maybe Edmund was the one running errands for and looking after Gomer. Having lost one's use of the legs don't mean very much because Gomer probably moved around on wheelchair.

I think the clues are in the freezing temperatures and the pool of blood ?

1. The 3rd track marks would have gone in 4 days.
2. Murphy sniffing the tracks mean there was still human odor in them.
3. I think Edmund was there earlier in Gomer's cottage and therefore he was not telling the truth.
