Everybody says exercise is good for health but what exactly does that means? After the 5th person tells you that exercise is good , you tend to tune out the message .. Well this guy (http://www.fit.com.my/2010/05/lifetime-big-loser-ck-teoh/) is feeling the benefits and its very real...

granted he did it with the help of a personal trainer but if an ordinary joe can exercise i dont' see why anybody cannot do it on their own ...

You just need iron-willed discipline, a lot of effort, and some knowledge of which type of exercise that is good for you. Of course you must have the time.

Ya, I would agree with iron-willed discipline.
In general, I would rank the significance as follows;

Discipline - 50%
Food intake - 30%
Exercise -10%
Others - 10%

If one do not have the mental discipline and sustained awareness, one will put back all the lost weight in very quick time.

One can also do hours of exercise, but if one do not take care of
the food intake, then one can balloon as well.
At the extreme note Sumo wrestlers who work out many hours a day.

There are exceptions, e.g. if is one metabolic rate is high, have
have tape worms, etc. where one can eat and eat and do
not put on weight.

Losing weight doesn't mean you are healthy  You must maintain a certain level of fitness.Example a fitness freak doing one hour of training in a gym but can he walk from Subang parade to taipan in 45min ?Going to gym is a lifestyle but not physical training

Tape worms.. boleh kah? :confused:I meant someone is infected with tape worm,
then he/she would not be likely to put on weight if he/she eats a lot.

If he/she recognized it as disease, then he/she will
have to get rid of the tape worm(s).

But there are others who opt to go on the tape worm diet
to loose weight.

 Eeek.... i would not choose or recommend this.

Firefly,

I am now bothered by tennis elbow, my left arm. It's about two weeks now. I searched the internet and found a doctor's youtube which he recommended exercising by holding a hammer and bending the wrist. I followed but not much improvement. Any suggestion or advice?
