Recently, the UK Chief Secretary of the Treasury quits over some entertainment allowances scandals and today the Japanese PM resigns over a broken promise to move the US airbase from Okinawa ... ok, they failed, at least, they got principles :o

Malaysian leaders ??? - one caught for bigamy without informing first wife of second marriage, got fined and suspended JAIL !!!! sentence, no big deal, others, close-one-eye, froggies here and there, open BUY-elections, BALI MANSION, lavish palaces .... list is too long and exhaustive and I will end up joining Zing and BSLee in banana plantation for name-calling again if I continue ... :p :p :p

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aCPbl36jpYcA&pos=8

In short, WE GOT "USELESS" UNPRINCIPLED LEADERS ..... (exception has been Zaid quitting coz he disagreed on ISA whilst in UMNO - first time in Msian history, and that is also coz he is a SENATOR only ... not elected one, wonder if he will do the same if he is elected MP ? )

It's the culture, my friend. Our rakyat are forgiving people, give govt chance and chance until the govt take things for granted.

I would prefer all elected reps or ministers to be restricted to 2 terms maximum...No matter how good you are, you should not overstay.

It's the culture, my friend. Our rakyat are forgiving people, give govt chance and chance until the govt take things for granted. In other cultures they are also forgiving - the difference is that you have to actually apologize before you will be forgiven.

Ex.

Hatoyama: I did not fulfil my promise. Therefore I must resign

Japanese public: Thank you for your honestly & humility. You are forgiven

Here, it's more like:

Malaysian person x: So? / It wasn't me / It's the fault of person y

General Malaysian public: You are one slick "ingluourious bas***d," wish I could be like you ... but I've got my own problems to deal with ... so you're forgiven

specific Malaysians (usj.com.my & other internet saavy/bloggers): skru these guys / the fault ultimately lies in politics / vote for change at the next GE

methink the header is misleading. There are too crooks, miscreants, misfits, racists, bigots, devilwannabes in the japanese & europeans. Same same in bolehland except that bolehland leaders got no shame. They get no punishment meted out for crime agst the rakyak..they get awards and immunity instead!

So, me think the proper header should read:

Why cant Malaysian Leaders ACT like a leader. Be a leader with universal values. And also be more of a statesman than a politician.

Yang Berharap pagar latotupai

We cannot blame the leaders. We have voted them in ever since independence. We have to blame ourselves just as much.

No party should ever be allowed to stay in power as long as BN/UMNO has.

No party should ever be allowed to stay in power as long as BN/UMNO has.But LDP in Japan was in power for a 100 years plus before they got bundled out... better late than never.

But once a two-party system exist, there will check and balance and the performance will improve coz voters have a choice so somehow these politikus will be on their toes.

In Malaysia, the real control & power lies with the 191 UMNO division heads, not Parliament
