I noticed a coffeeshop at Court 3 changed their CRT to a wider flatscreen TV. World Cup is good for business I suppose.

Well, I suppose most would just order a teh tarik, but I know some people who order a meal at kick-off and another at halftime. LOL.

Trust me, the mamaks are not stupid bizmen ok - they know that when we, Malaysians, see another Msian tucking into mee goreng , roti canai, mee rebus etc ... like a hungry ghost .... sure order one !!!! :p :p :D :D   And if they are smarter/cunning, take the long route and detour with the food when serving and let the aroma spreads all over the place .... :p :p

Asia Cafe and will be packed with football fans. No seating room for other customers. Most of these will be students from the nearby colleges. They will buy a drink (some don't) and sit there the whole night just to watch the matches. Kena a few times when Manchester United was playing its crucial matches. Sheesh. I can imagine what is going to happen from next Friday. Me..I'd rather get a good night's sleep than stay up and watch those matches. I cannot bear to see grown men cry when they lose!

Grown men? Nah, not for me. WC football is too defensive and the pace is too slow aka boring, not like EPL.
You notice the frenzy cos of the hype especially those selling the big screen stuff, telecasting it and those that are sponsoring it.

Yes, it is also available on free-to-air TV MINUS all the so-called "professional" footie pundits :p ... well, instead you get RTM and TV3 jokers   .... BUT who cares, right ... it is the GAME not the cartoon characters before, at halftime and after the game !!! :D :D

Only disadvantage - no repeats like ESPN Astro .... so if you miss it , you MISSED it !! :p (hint: Youtube sure have one .... maybe delayed telecast  )

Glad to hear that :D ... I am actually planning to watch in FULL only 3 games - 2 semi-finals and final - the others, I will catch my "beauty" sleep and watch the highlights the next morning, or even better ONLINE at ESPN.COM ....

You mean you will skip all the Brazilian matches? Adoi, I am only watching because of them. If they lose early on, I will only watch the final.

Hahaha .... like one forumer said, World Cup are essentially boring - usually defensive in nature - so most games will probably end up 1-0 or 2-1 at best.

The fun and suspense come during semis and final - when you reach that stage, the players go hyper - the "so close yet so far" psyche kicks in very powerfully. Grown men cry if they miss penalties at that stage ... Q-finals is like neither here nor there - group stages, testing testing 1,2,3 for best team combo esp against weaker opponents ... but SEMIS and FINAL - damn serious .... :D

Correct and also the play off for going into the next round. When there is a tie, there is no more defensive play. Tora, Tora, Tora!!

The problem with these free stations is ...espcailly TV3/7/8/9 they talk about WC and never show any matches and sumore fedup is they show results with no goal scoring scene only the players face

Anyone finds the vevuzelas too noisy for the ears?
Me have sensitive ears, I have to reduce the volume of the TV.

Anyone know where I can get a South Korean supporter jersey/flag?

Most of the places only sell the usual suspects, but South Korean artefacts are difficult to find.

Appreciate any tips.

Where I've looked so far :
- Little Korea (Ampang)
- Supermarts, Giant, Carrefour, Tesco
- Ampang Point
- SS 13 pasar malam clothes line.
- Al Ikhsan - RM200+ each (forget it).

thanking in advance.

Yes,indeed Al Ikhsan sells the only original jersey, surprisingly pasar malam don't stock these unpopular jerseys like NZ,Aus,SA,Ghana,Paraguay....Serbia.Last sat.thought of buying the Aussie jersey with No 4 (Cahill)RM358  but No 4 (sui) better forget it.
