If Charles Darwin and his Theory of Evolution is right, then we were from a long line including our first cousins the apes.... watch this VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAG1-Dbtd7A) - perhaps we can blame our genes for some of our selfish human behaviour... who else can we blame?

Listen Pucman, this is a light thread ribbing human behaviour so please do not hijack it and bring in religious debate. Your respect greatly appreciated....

What grabbed my attention most was the protectiveness and love shown by the parent (mummy?). I wouldn't call the act as a selfish behavior but more of a childish prank. If we do indeed blame our genes for any selfish behavior, perhaps here we can credit the genes for giving us the ability to love? :)

If you study genetics as a subject you may recall that it is the gene x environment interaction that brings forth certain traits. For example, most Chinese lack the genes to produce the lactase enzyme to digest the lactose in milk. If they drink milk they will purge, get a stomach upset and diarrhoea. Thus, the genes (which causes the absence of the lactase enzyme) interact with the environment (partaking of milk containing lactose), result = stomach upset + diarrhoea. But, if you don't drink milk (hence no environment interaction), you don't get diarrhoea even if you lack the lactase enzyme! Thus, selfish behaviour may be the result of our genes with the potential of causing selfish tendencies interacting with the environment (negative human interaction) giving rise to selfish behaviour. But if you were to live alone on an island...no environmental interaction...no chance to be selfish to another person! So I will blame it on our environment - poor association with the right people, lack of opportunity to do good deeds - that causes a person to be a (deleted expletive). Sorry for long discourse..from my point of view :D

Kinabatangan by erection? What is the verdict with the bung case? I think it highly unlikely he would lose his seat.

Listen guys, I posted the video as a light-hearted poke at human behavior of betrayal or in this case a baby chimp pushing his buddy into the deep water... take it as that and not try and bring in religion and whatever ok? I mentioned Darwin Theory just as an opener to add in some punch but thats all there is to it, nothing more.

I suspect you are an old member in a different nick. Take this as a warning to not engage in any form of instigations. Next repeat of the same intention means permanent residence in the Plantation
