My friend is considering to buy a 2nd hand Ford Escape. Her concern is over the maintenance of this car. Is anyone driving a Ford Escape here? Would you mind sharing your opinions about the performance of the vehicle? Is oil consumption high?

Oil (as in lubrication oil) or do you mean fuel (as in petrol or diesel) ... very different materials

I was referring to fuel consumption.
