View Full Version : Maxis telecommunications tower - is it safe to be staying nearby such towers?

I recently purchased a house in SS19 and after that only saw 2 Maxis telecommunication tower (very tall towers) in the neighbourhood - about 10 houses away from my neighbour's corner house. This corner house is just next to a piece of empty land. Then I called up someone to check and she told me there are many more such towers behind the empty land. Took a drive there and saw around 2-3 towers as not visible from road level as the land is sloping down to Shah ALam and was told there is a Maxis office and also a Maxis warehouse behind this piece of land and many workers staying there too.
Can anyone of you give some advise on such telecommunication towers.
I asked around my friends, relatives, colleagues and my contractor but all of them said, "should be ok" as it's not next to your house and we are exposed to all kinds of radiation like microwave, mobile, etc. everday and there is no proof that such towers endangers our life or causes cancer.
Am wondering if they said so just to "console" me since I have put down the 3% earnest deposit and will be signing the S&P in 2 weeks time.

you are exposing to EMF...which everybody knows will cause problems..
Once upon a time I nearly bought a house in Tmn Wangsa baiduri, not knwoing there were high tension cables all around. Thank God at the very last minute, I changed my mind!

Maybe the house is for sale because the owner and family were wiped out by invisible lines of force?
Do the other home owners closer to the towers look like they are about to kick the bucket?
Science has been investigating this for decades and there is still no answer.
If you really want to be safe, buy a large ionizer (wait a minute, thats electrical) turn off all electrical appliances, dont enter your kitchen, dont use a cell phone or sit near a computer or tv because any electrical line has those unseen forces.
Face facts it is everywhere. You can buy an EMF detector to check levels for yourself for your own peace of mind, or you can go live in the hills without electricity if you want to be 100% safe from EMF.

So I reckon its an urban myth, but if one is afraid..better don't buy a house near this phenomenon. Easier for one to move away but not the tele or electrical towers.

Hey, I've experienced living in a rural area at Pahang back in the late 70's for some time, many villages and settlements there without electricity and mandi in the nearby river with drinking water is "normally" murky. Lighting is kerosene lamp when its pitch dark and near dead silent by 8pm. I really pity those resident folks there who endured this most of their lives till only in the late 80's that they did finally get electricity and piped water. Best part was they never had to worry or pay utility bills on time. There were none. Its no joke you know.

If you are really worried about electromagnetic radiation from towers that are meters away, then you have to be even more worried about electromagnetic radiation from phones which you put right next to your brain on a constant basis...

How? Lobby local politicians to allow you to own a gun? But tiger protected species.
Feed tiger before it gets hungry, then big pussy cat.
More important to worry about snakes and scorpions, but hey got them in cities too, just in disguise.

Yup, you should be getting more EMF from your handphones that from the towers. :D
As long as you dont walk on the path of the dish... should be ok.. else you will be glowing in the dark....
Symptom... dizziness and vomitting.

Even rubber tappers carry handphones. Modern technology has its evil side. :(
