Here are many Japanese words to mean ' I '

Atashi : casual and only used by the girl/lady to sound cute ! Absolutely No-no for male !
Boku : now, this is the right casual word for the boys/men to use.
Ore ( RE pronounced like Malay RELA) : even more casual than Boku, strictly for male too...often used in anime ! Buddy-buddy.
Watakushi : Extremely polite, not gender specific ... formal speech.

Go for the safest one: Watashi , standard word for all.

Japanese has loads of considerations for word usage with regards to talking to someone older, more senior . .. so need to use polite form.
Peer-to-peer, then the casual form ...

Oh yeah, in case you wonder, there's also a list of words to mean 'You" ! :p
Next lesson. JA NE. ( No, this is not a girl's name. means that's all, bye. ) :)

The word "anata".

anata : you ( not gender specific, standard word for you ).

Also can be used by wife to call husband. ( Not husband call wife.)
Example,

An(a)ta, biru wa do ? ( silent (a) )
You, beer .. how about ? ( word by word translation )
Hubby, wanna have beer ? ( proper meaning )

Funny huh, the wife should call the husbands "you" ..kind of rude ?
Actually this is to sound dear. :D

BTW, husband call wife .. "Oi !" NOw, that's rude.

DOmo (long pronounciation DO .. like Door) Arigato Gozaima****a
= thank you very much

DOmo sumimasen = Very sorry, Excuse me ( very polite way )

Can be used in solitary, to acknowledge politely, eg

A-san: Konnichiwa ( Hello )
B-san: Ah ..DOmo (Ah, .. oops I forgot his name .. ok, just say DOmo, I'll be safe ! ) :D

HAVE FUN! TANOSHIMI.

btw, "o kudasai" is strictly for asking politely for THINGS.
Not a direct substitute for the Eng word 'please'.

Just curious - what is "currymee" in Japanese ? ;)

karemen - kare: curry, men : noodles
kareraisu means curry rice which is a popular menu - the Jap version of curry rice is a bit sweet, thick, no coconut milk and not hot.

Don't think they can imagine what "karemen" would be like. Certainly not
your Choy Kee version.
