Businessman Lee Hong Long, 32, was gunned down when he was reversing the car from his house at Taman Mutiara Mahsing, Subang Permai in Subang Jaya, last night.

It was believed that the gunman fired at close range while Lee had his car window wound down to get a smoke.

Afterwards, the gunman, who was unmasked, cooly walked way.

Petaling Jaya district police chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner II Datuk Sheikh Mustafa Sheikh Ahmad, said the killer was believed to have got away in a red Proton Wira.

He said a neighbour who heard the gun-shots managed to rush Lee to Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) but the victim apparently died on the way.

"We have not established the motive for the killing, but we have not discounted the possibility of a hired-gun being involved," said Sheikh Mustafa.

He also said a spent shell for .38 calibre revolver has been recovered from the scene.

He added, a report was made at the Kampung Subang police station around 12.35am.

He said police discovered many brochures about 'Flower Horn' ornamental fish in the victim's car, a Mercedes Benz CLK 320.

The police urged the public who has information about the incident to contact Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters, Tel: 03-79562222 or the nearest police station.
