Which is the best route to take to get to work from USJ3 to Jalan Semantan, Damansara. And also what time to leave to reach office by 8.30 a.m.

Which is the best route to take to get to work from USJ3 to Jalan Semantan, Damansara. And also what time to leave to reach office by 8.30 a.m.a) Use Tujuan up to Federal Highway, then NKVE up to Sprint Highway.

b) There is major congestion on the Sprint Highway from the NKVE toll to the Tropicana City Mall / LDP that starts around 8:00 am - you probably should leave around 7:30 or earlier.

Thank you for the prompt response.

What about via NPE up to Bangsar then either through Jalan Maarof or straight on via Jalan Travers get on Mahameru-Jln Damansara ?

Cheers, m8 am? That jam starts by 7.15am sometimes to the toll. I would recommend you to try 7.30 reaching the toll and see what time you reach the office. My worst record is 7.30 at the toll and 8.45 at office in Damansara Perdana.

The jam on the sprint highway is bad, as Jokee says...but it is a shorter stretch of jam and then once you are through that, you are moving.

If you don't mind paying toll, the NPE route will be the fastest ..... since most ppl on that stretch and also up and down Maarof drives "fast" in fast cars :p

Thank you all for the suggestions. Guess I'll just have to give each route a try and also find the best time.

I leave before 6.15 am from Subang Jaya. Too early you may say? But I get all the fresh air, no traffic jams, no need to rush and get to park in my office car park for RM1 the whole day (after 7 am it's RM1 per hour). Used to the routine already.

Good idea. Just have to get into the routine/habit. May be difficult in the beginning.

By the way, are there anyone staying in the vicinity of USJ3 who also commute to work in Jalan Semantan ? Would like to hear your experience as well.

My advice is to leave the job because to have to get up that early and most likely come back late is definitely not worth it.

You may be able to get up 630am for the first 2-3 weeks but after the 4th week, it sort of wears you down because the night before, you're having late dinner with relatives until 11pm and you only have 6 hours left before you wake up again.
That is the waking up part.

Coming back. You have to leave latest by 515pm because if you leave by 530pm..you're stuck at here, there and everywhere.
You will probably arrive home at 630pm or 7pm. That leaves you another 3 more hours until you need to go to sleep by 10pm for a fresh start.

After a while it gets to you.
If you lead a boring life, then it is fine but if you want to grab the world and put it in your pocket, then this is a soul-less routine.

i used to travel from USJ12 to Jln Semantan using NKVE in my previous job. I used ot leave at around 7:30 and got to work at around 8:30 to 9 on "good days". when it rained, it can take more than 2 hours. the jam can start on NKVE itself all the way to Damansara  ok, this was those days and not too sure how is the traffic nowadays..........that is one of the reasons i left the job ;)

but if the job is too good, the other suggestion is to work hard and play hard.....go to work early and for the evening, go for happy hours and wait till the jam eases off :D just like what i did ;)

IMHO, the junction from BU is worsening the jam from the main road because they have to go and U turn at the junction at Damansara Jaya for them to go to NKVE. Those days, they can U turn at the bridge but the access road is closed due to some private land dispute, and the road is left idle. What a waste.

Point taken.

I may be able to nego for flexi hour, i.e. work from 9.30 to 6.30 instead.

Have anyone use the following route ?

SJ - Federal H/way - Subang Toll - NKVE - Duta Toll - Jalan Semantan

and is the jam at the Duta toll shorter than the Damansara toll ?

Cheers
