Car stolen in USJ4/6D on 27/1/2010 at about 4am. This lady told me her gate was unscrewed and taken out. Then her Kancil was driven or pushed out. Her black Honda CRV was then driven out together with all her customers important documents. Looks like it was job of some professionals.

No, just the Honda CRV. She said her husband had just finished working on his clients files and kept his files in the Honda and went to bed around 3am. When she got up at 5am, she found her Proton (sorry not Kancil) was parked outside the gate, her Honda car gone and the gates off its poles!!
No damage or broken windows in her Proton!!! How did they drive it out????

Looks like it was done professionals ... imagine, taking out the gate without waking up of people, starting the car engine without waking up the owner...Wow...
Now...that's dangerous. I thought USJ4 has been gated and guarded?

Not all the areas are gated and guarded. The area behind Klink Rosli / Apollo / Casablanca restaurant block of shops are not gated and guarded. Apparently the residents met yesterday for a meeting...
I talked to the lady again today and she gave more details. She said they must have carried both the gates upwards then pull them apart. They had placed one of the gates on her garden and put back the other. Perhaps then they carried the Proton car out, then broke into the CRV and drove off....
She had been talking to other neighbours around and found out that a neighbour in front of her house had at a bad experience as well last year. She had just driven back after picking up her son from tuition and was just outside the house and a couple of Chinese guys with guns came and pulled her out and drove the car away with her son. Apparently the car was driven straight into a container truck to be shipped out of the country. The son was left along a highway....
More neighbours had their house broken in as well.
Gosh these guys are really monitoring our every move.
At least now the neighbours are talking so more info can be obtained...
The situation in USJ4 is bad...they look for expensive vehicles

So meaning that we all have to drive Proton or Kancil from now on... What has happened to Malaysia...It seems like the security has eroded, I am really worried that one day, it will be as dangerous as in South Africa. :o

As far as I know, most ppl buy smaller cars to avoid troubles in KL.

In USJ4, (or maybe whole of USJ), so far all the car crimes that I have heard of involved Hondas (esp CRV) and Toyotas (Camry) - good "stolen" resale value !!

Looks like stealing good vehicles & resale them is a profitable business.
Imagine 1 vehicle can cover a whole year or more of expenses.
The authorities must take action for these crimes

.... The authorities must take action for these crimes
That is why half the residents ae arguing with the other half over the Guarded and Gated (GnG) bcoz authroities are lost-cause ... so a lot of residents feel the need to DIY !! reporting to police is just for administration pruposes - i.e. need police reports for insurance, get new IC, drivers licence, credit card replacemnts .... expecting them to solve the crimes or prevent them , forget it .... I have given up on the POLICE since 1980s .....

Come think of it ... why would the thieves have to go through so much hassle, removing the gate, take out the Proton, then only drive out the CRV? I just came back from morning walk around my taman, I noticed that there are so many nice cars, CRV, Camry, X-trail parked by the road side or the edge of the road. Why the thieves don't just go and take those? That gave me the thoughts of whether the owner has recently lost the keys or could have sent the key for duplication or even the thieves actually know the owner.

wondering, is the CRV new or old model? likewise, is there any statistic or data showing most stolen cars are new/brand new...
Between a new Toyota Vios or new Honda City, versus an old (say more than 7yrs old) Honda CRV having the same market value range (between 65-88K), which vehicle is most likely to be stolen/targeted?
If you are buying a car in the same price range, and wanna avoid being targeted, which vehicle will you opt for?

I think you are right. It must be a job done by people they know. I also realized that there are more expensive cars parked outside some houses near her house at night.

Sorry to think that way but the incident has too many doubts ;) The loss adjustor could even suspect that it was planned arrangement :p
