Dear Residents

AN INVITATION – LAUNCH OF KEMPEN “BALIK KAMPUNG – RUMAH SELAMAT” 2010 Chinese New Year

Once again, it's time for yet another “Balik Kampung – Rumah Selamat” Campaign, coordinated ahead of the Chinese New Year seasonal festivities. The campaign will be launched on:

Date : Sunday, 31st January 2010
Time : 2.30pm
Venue : Concourse, The Summit USJ Shopping Complex Area,
Persiaran Kewajipan, USJ - Subang Jaya, Selangor

YDH Dato’ CPO Selangor will be the Guest-of-Honour and will launch this highly-successful “Balik Kampung-Rumah Selamat” campaign for residents of Subang Jaya (covering Subang Jaya, USJ, Putra Heights and Bandar Sunway).

As you all are already aware, the “Balik Kampung-Rumah Selamat” campaign is a joint crime-prevention effort coordinated between the resident community of Subang Jaya with the IPD Subang Jaya so that residents (whose homes are registered under the campaign) can be assured of increased police patrols to their “unoccupied” homes during their absence during the festive holiday season. As per past campaigns, the necessary forms that will be used by both the residents as well as the Police (Borang Lawatan Polis) will be printed and distributed while on-line registrations through the SJ Alert website will also be undertaken.

On behalf of the SJ Alert ProTem Committee, we would like to invite you and your family to attend and participate in the launch ceremony.

We look forward to see you all this Sunday afternoon.

Yours sincerely,
EILEEN CHEAH

Perhaps it would be good to have this event in the 3K building or even at SS15's dewan....that would help to be in a more direct event.

What do you mean by a more "direct event"?

Direct event meaning within the heart of a community using community facilities. Having in malls are good but some shoppers just do not bother. Having it as a community within a community centre and getting as many to encourage more to come would be a good and effective way to make this better. Just a thought :D

In the past, all these events were either held at Malls or Hypermarts. The reason is to catch the shoppers while they are browsing/shopping. I am quite sure if these events are held at non-shopping places like community halls, the turn-out would be dismal. We all know that no matter how much banners and flyers ae used, the people at home would either forget or become too lazy to attend when the event gets underway. I hope you understand why they need to "capture" the audience in shopping malls.
