I think is that guy who recently disassociated his name with sugar.

But, it is indeed difficult to know who is the richest especially in this part of the world

I thought most would refer to Forbes list for this kind of survey.

Yes, Forbes.

But the accuracy of Forbes to gather adequate and accurate details on individual wealth in the East is a question mark.

For example,

A owns 1 million shares of a listed company worth RM10 per share. He is worth 10 millions. This info is declared.

B owns a piece of prime land and a few commercial properties worth RM20 millions. B has no obligation to declare.

Nobody will know B is richer.

Can anyone tell me who is the richest man in our beloved country currently  ?

Why you wanna know? You wanna make friends with him ahh...?

14-01-2010, 05:15 PM
I don't think any of these seriously rich individuals will make public claim to being rich or the richest. Its entirely up to you to form your own conclusion and based on your own findings. Otherwise like tupai said, don't give a flying banana. ;)

14-01-2010, 07:07 PM
Me think the richest is either the one who ruled this country for the longest time or the white rajah who ruled the largest state (in East Malaysia) for the longest time...

14-01-2010, 09:49 PM
interestingly people only look at how much they have, 10b this and 10b that but does anyone know what sort of debts they or their companies owe?

21-02-2011, 08:10 PM

Is he also in the list of "Top 10 Richest Malaysians" ?

22-02-2011, 11:47 AM
These are the richest by virtue of their declared holdings in public listed companies. There are those that are not seen e.g. their money cannot be seen because they were obtained by dubious means. They would not like their names to be seen in these lists for fear of the back lash from the public. Once they are retired they would not mind if their sons names appear in these lists.

You mean those who carry their cash out of the country in suitcases.
