Can you please recommend a decent hotel in Singapore? Criteria: clean and cheap (below S$100) with attached bath in a good location. Previously I managed to stay in a very ideal hotel in Bangkok from forumers' recommendations so I am turning to you guys for help again. :)

Which is that 'ideal' hotel you stayed in Bangkok? Care to share?

Edit

I'd say Hotel Malacca, Still Rd, near Eunos MRT. I think it's still around S$95.

Don't bother about its old reputation as a "quickie" place. It's not anymore. It's clean, has bath, has free Internet and it's friendly.

Some nice seafood restaurants nearby and that famous durian eatery.

YMCA Ft Canning is good. A little above S$100.00 though. In Chinatown, there are lots of cheap hotels favoured by backpackers.

The hotel is Calypzo http://www.calypzobangkok.com. It's new and clean, only 2 mins walk from the MRT. The rate was an unbeatable 1000Baht per nite. However, don't expect shops at the doorsteps like in Pratunam areas. I actually prefer it that way.

Thanks for all suggestions for Sin hotels. Will look into them. Airtickets to Sin is cheap with Jetstar or Firefly (about RM160 return) but hotels and food can kill!

The Hotel81 chain might be worth looking into - I had read an news article some time ago that they are actually clean and not the "quickie" type which I thought they were.

Then again, I haven't stayed in their hotels so I can't vouch for them.

Google for Frangrance Hotel Sapphire (or Ruby). They are having pre-renovation offer where it can go for as cheap as SG60 or less. To get the offer, you must call the office during office hours to book. And non-refundable of course once paid. Hotel is located at Geylang where you get all the 'chickens' running around but up to you not to pay any attention to them.

I have stayed there and I would say they are clean and nice. Usually they allocate you the upper floors. The lower ones are for the 'chickens' and their clients :-)

Ha! Ha! :D Probably not for me!!!

There is an offer at Quality hotel for M'sian passport holders S$99, I think. Also my friend stayed at the Marriot for S$198 2nights but had to endure 90mins of sales talk on some vacation plan.
