We should all aim to be responsible road users.

Who are road users? All who use public roads! Car drivers, bus drivers, lorry drivers, motorcyclists, bicyclists, and of course pedestrians.

Pedestrians should always walk responsibly on pavements wherever possible, follow traffic lights and use pedestrian walkways / overhead bridges instead of jaywalking dangerously across 4-lane expressways.

Bicyclists and motorcyclists should also follow the traffic rules, i.e. the traffic lights, use protective helmets and ensure their vehicle is properly lit (to improve visibility for others).

Drivers of larger vehicles should practise safe and defensive driving and give way to smaller road users. Double parking should not be practised, especially if there are plenty of empty parking bays just several meters away.

Finally, everyone should cultivate a little patience on the road. Running the red lights to save a few minutes is not worth the risk of running over somebody. Making an illegal u-turn when the legal one is just a few meters in front is just plain wrong. Jaywalking across the NPE (yes, NPE!) when the overhead bridge or traffic light crossings are just several minutes walk away is also dangerous not only for the pedestrian, but also for the motorists who will be swerving to avoid knocking him down.

Of course, to make Subang Jaya pedestrian friendly, there must be more paved walkways and properly demarcated pedestrian crossings. Is it possible for us to make some proposal to MPSJ for this to happen?

SOKONG! But i will merely simplify the whole process to just these simple rules:

1. Stick to your own lane in town and NShway, regardless of your speed (unless you are hogging the fast/overtaking lane along the hway)

2. Do not make sudden turn left or right without using your indicator.

Thats all. Stick to the above and u can have low cost, stressless driving experience.

Always remember the caveat that if you should kill some1 with your vehicle (accidently or otherwise), you can be charged with man-slaughter (up to 20yrs in prison + hefty fine + a possible civil& bankruptcy suit) or if u 'gungho' and intentionally run some1 down, its a premeditated murder charge (then its life or even death sentence).

I often witness motorbikers (I'm singling out those common 70cc to 100+ cc bikes) are frequently, blatant and habitual (VERY HABITUAL ACTUALLY) road safety offenders. I think they have LEAST consideration about other road users or themselves for that matter....TILL some loved one meets some disaster, God forbid.
Beating traffic lights, crossing or U turn at traffic light controlled location the moment where there's opportunity despite traffic lights, NO helmets, school kids or non-licensed zipping past in rural or outskirt areas, 3-4 including toddler or baby on bike.

ALL THE ABOVE POINT TO IRRESPONSIBLE actions of bike motorists, doesn't matter if its rural or city or back roads. Traffic laws are THE LAW and they ARE mostly logical and sensible laws in the best interest of everyone. NO if's and NO but's. Worst of all, decades of enforcement and punitive actions on people who use motorbikes as means of daily transport have NOT changed attitudes significantly. I suggest anyone reading this, just visit or passby and OBSERVE for yourself the motorbikes that pass by you and see for yourself the above offences that are commited right front and LIVE infront of your eyes. Frequent road blocks at bike lanes, What the heck are they achieving?.. is it all about licensing and maybe catching some bad hats?.

This also means the amount of FINES collected by enforcers ARE NOTHING but merely equal to tax revenue. Bad road manners and habits are still very evident and this is also due to upbringing and the lousy enducation system that achieves little on civility. The parents do it, the children also follow suit..it goes on. This land and many of its values is in the gutters lah!

As for pedestrians, ever get the feeling that some are actually DARING you (driver) to knock them down? What's with the walking 2-3-or-more-abreast on a road, crossing one when traffic light is still green or basically not bothering to see if it's safe before doing it.

Ever seen a pedestrian taking their own sweet time to cross a road, talking on their handphone for that JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR CONVERSATION, despite seeing your car coming along? That's when I wish my car has a bull horn!

I have noticed that majority of the younger generation have no safety concerns when on the road, be it as a pedestrian or a motorist. Which brings us back to educating our youngs on road safety and not to leave it to the schools. Just don't forget the 'look left, look right..." lesson.

Its typical attitude problem and many are like that so much so Its NOW an INHERENT CULTURE that stinks of another BAD HABIT thats developed in recent times! Look!.. this land is with declining values, and rarely anyone is admitting its happening!. IN FACT most may think THATS QUITE NORMAL! By George, ITS NOT NORMAL! Yes, I'm NOT happy about it either and these old eyes of mine observe idiotic attitudes daily or whenever. Many will not care but continue (monkey see, monkey do) as there's NOT A SINGLE endeavor on a national scale to address such bad attitudes nor to re-educate anyone, ONLY PUNITIVES galore (and its further enhanced instead)!

I hope I've done my best for my 2 grown up sons in educating them with whats NOT taught in school or U. I'm still observing them and periodically correct them strongly and with reasons why.
That makes just a mere 2 future and hopefull good citizens out of 27million onwards to more than 35million after I kick the bucket. Just pray more parents do the same, IF there's any future for this land. Its NOT just about the quest to being seriously wealthy and fighting for survival. I can only teach so much.
SO!.. shall we label all those double parkers, motorcyclists without helmets, let loose their teen or underaged kids whizzing around ALL as IRRESPONSIBLE parents?

Or to recommend an 'Inculcating Good Manners DIY for idiots' as a syllabus and SELL at a hefty $um to the gomen, no? Look at the opportunity this land of susu, madu, surat layang, pengecut, saudara ulamak hipokrit dll binatang2 biadap can offer the new breed of industry keptens! YIPPPEEEEEEEEE!

SEND THESE BOOKS to the DEWAN RAKYAT and ENSURE THOSE PEOPLE READ IT WELL AND ABSORB IT!, if nothing's changed... then it didn't work. Skulls too thick or too little meat inside it.
If it didn't work, what makes you think it'll be of use in schools?
