As if the publicity from the death of A Kugan at the Subang Jaya police station was not bad enough... now it has got itself embroiled in another controversy. This time, an MBA student from China has blogged about being arrested and remanded for 9 days and badly treated as well.

On Day 3 of her detention (for suspected prostitution) her college proved her identity as a student but the cops kept her for another 6 days.

She has blogged about it and creating a big storm in Beijing where she comes from, has filed a complaint with the Chinese Embassy and has granted an interview with Malaysiakini.

Read all about it here in MALAYSIAKINI.COM (http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/120591)

Looks like our neighborhood police station is fast making a reputation for itself...

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Zainal Rashid Abu Bakar said the police released Li after it was verified that she was a legitimate student (but after 6 days? I thought they are superefficient with certain people?).Knowing current cases there will be a deathly silence after this.

It is already silent... notice that this Chinese student only get to air her complaints in Malaysiakini and her own blog and none of the mainstream newspaper wants to carry the story?

Notice how some of the members of this forum who are working with the police to help Subang Jaya be more peaceful mis curiously silent?

speechless for our local authority. no authenticity. but this is the law we are living in within. you are remain guilty until you can prove yourself innocent, unlike other country e.g hkg law

I cannot imagine going to a foreign country and get wrongly arrested and put into a prison lock-up without trial or access to any help either from friends or even from my embassy representatives for 8 to 9 days and not knowing I will come out dead or alive or abused physically or sexually. This is really degrading.

I am really ashamed (and even scared) it happened again so soon after the Kugan "death in custody case" in our own neighborhood police station.
