Hello everyone.
My name is Fong Kim Seng. I am a retired ex-civil servant. I moved to USJ3 area about 5 years ago and have been a visiting guest to this forum for nearly a year now.
I have finally got a new computer with Streamyx broadband, so it is possible for me to participate in the forum now. Previously, my old personal computer with TM dial-up was too slow except for reading.
My interests are gardening, general and current affairs and KLSE investment. I have to make my measly Government pension work harder. I used to be a secondary school science teacher and last posting was in Kedah.
That is all.

VeeJay,
PLEASE !! Don't mind me of the quality of science students today. They can recite and spew out facts like a computer, but if you ask them to do some analytical thinking and reasoning, abject failure - they will keep responding with memorised facts. I like the Joke on Hell (exothermic) or (endothermic), that student deserves an A++ for thinking :) (see Jokes section)
Hi Cikgu
I am actually looking up for any forum or group for senior citizens here (i don mean any offence)....I just dragged my dad who is 62 years old now from his kampung (born, grew up and worked there) to stay with me in USJ.
He was secondary school teacher as well...retired as a headmaster. He is getting so bored here and looking out to do some useful activities. Any suggestions or groups you know of?

Buy him a PC install broadband (no dial-up, CIkgu Fong can testify to its uselessness) and sign him up for the USJ forums, we will teach him about life in SJ/USJ, right everyone ? :)

Nona, do ask your father to join us - he will enjoy it here. And do get him broadband, dial-up cannot be used for anything other than reading, it is too slow.
thanks curry me and fong...
Am going out to check some PC's tom....as he is the conventional man (but very eager to get on PC)....I want to find a computer that is comfy to use with basic requirement and definately a big wide screen.
Checking out tom...as I am on leave.
Anyway I will definately get him online very soon. thanks again guys!

Nona,
You are welcome, just make sure it is powerful enough - we old-timers may not have too much patience also ... :)
