Collected 2 books from mWong and she mentioned this to me too. Asked me if I know anyone who reads Enid Blyton's as she has a fresh supply from Franky. It's great that you donated some of the books to the club.
This is my 2nd time loaning books from the book club. There are some good choices worth checking out. If you run out of books to read (like moi!), you can always join this book exchange club held on alternate Sundays. :p

Is anyone using or know of SHELFARI, http://www.shelfari.com/ ?
It is basically, quote "Shelfari is the premier social network for people who love books. Create a virtual shelf to show off your books, see what your friends are reading and discover new books...." Unquote.
We are in the midst of setting up a book shelf for the books we are having, for you to browse through and if you want to exchange or borrow any that's on our shelf, just email or pm me or other volunteers who are running this program with me.
But, you can only browse through the group's (SJ/USJ Residents' Book Club)shelf as a member. We welcome you to join us. Just pm me your email address - which is all it needs, to get started.
We are also on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/?sk=2361831622#!/group.php?gid=140050212700557 Just got that set up yesterday so still lots to improve on. Please bear with us. :)

Check out this website, http://www.shelfari.com/groups/63698/lists/read where we have posted (& in the midst of posting more) books that are available for exchange or loan.
It is very simple - see any book/s you like to exchange or loan, pm me or post it here & I'll hold the book for your collection at the Bk Exch Prog (BEP) which we have every 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month.
Come join us in facebook, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Subang-Jaya-Book-Exchange-Programme/118643284852680 for more updates in our BEP and any discussions you wish to have on your favourite books, authors or just simply have your say about the program.

Thank you mWong for this truly good effort. I have loads of old books, some my own, some don't know from where. But some have yellowed and smell musty. Would anyone be interested? I saw your list and the books thereon can be considered rather recent. Or should I just donate them away? I love books and so have not have the heart to throw them away.

bzjude, thanks for the kind words & offer of books for the Xchange program. I understand your sentiments about throwing away books.
We would love to have more books to give a wider selection option to those who comes by for the exchange. Frankly, it helps to have new titles to keep people interested to come for the BEP.

Someone brought some boxes of very old (like bought in 1960s) books once and they are mostly at my home library now, found lots of The Saint series etc, written in proper English and loaded with humour without too much 'spice'. These type of books hardly exist nowadays.
Hi Fay,
A friend of a friend wants to donate some books. She's in USJ12. Can you send me an email address or something so I can put you two in contact together? Mine's ellenwhyte AT lepak.com

Hi Fledgeling

Hi lhct, my daughter is 5 years old. She is starting to read Enid Blyton books like 'Noddy', 5 Find Outers. I'm looking for series like 'The Faraway Tree', Famous 5 etc.
When is the next exchange?
The next exchange should be the first Sunday of Feb. A notice will be posted in the forum by either Sulynx or mWong, confirming that the meet is on. In the meantime, you can check if the Enid Blyton titles we have (hopefully the list has been updated) are suitable for your daughter: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/63698/lists/read
Alternatively, I can keep an eye out for those titles you mentioned and set them aside for your collection at the following meet.

this thread is actually meant for us to list & update the books we have for forumers' info. Right now, the # of books is just too great/many for us to do that.
The other thread of the same name but without 'bk-list' behind it, is for discussions about the program & for us to inform about the date it will be held. Here's the link, http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?27985-Residents-Book-Exchange-or-Loan-Club

A gentleman participating in the BEP has lots of old issues of music recording magazines, eg Home Studio Recording, Sound On Sound , Keyboard, Electronic Musician !future Music, etc., to be given away.
There are also issues of National Geographic mags in pristine condition.
Anyone interested?
