Hi,

Just a simple clean thread, to share your experience.

Just want to mention that my Panasonic fridge, NR-B591G (NRB591G) isn't cold.

Bought it just over a year ago, and waiting for the technician to come have a look at it. Hopefully it is just the compressor problem (which is covered by a 5 year warranty). Will update this after the problem is found.

The fridge was bought last year in June. It was not actually used till August, and taking into account I was overseas for ~3 months, my real usage of the fridge was < 1 year. Of course, the fridge was left on during the whole period.


Problem found.

Problem :
Fridge compressor won't kick in, and thus the fridge (and freezer) is not cold at all.

Cause :
- Malfunction of Defrost Thermostat Timer TMDJ702AC1 made by Sankyo, USA. It is located behind the fridge, near the compressor.
- This item stops the compressor after ~8 hours, and activates the heater on the cooling coil to prevent frost from building up in the freezer.
- There is a small dial on this item, which controls the timer. Thus turning it will activate or deactivate the compressor.

Solution :
- The replacement part, CNRAG-11633T ( CNRAG11633T ) which is made in Panasonic Taiwan (~RM130). Comes with 1 month warranty.
- Labour cost, RM55



Keeping my fingers cross that this fridge doesn't give anymore problems.
