It seems that i'm the only usj 12/3 resident that visit this USJ Forum. The rest still waiting for their house to be ransake only will come here & tell their sad stories. :(

With more and more of other USJs setting up GnG, eventually the robbers and snatch thieves will turn their attention to USJ that is without GnG like USJ12. Already it's happening. My neighbor's car Honda Accord was stolen. Further down the road in USJ12/1 near the school, someone's house was broken into. Another house was also broken into. Also near the school.

Anyone in USJ12 would like share any information on robberies and snatch theft cases in our area?

You'd be surprised that it is not only happening in USJ, but all over the Klang Valley.

Go just to any residential area and you will see guards, barricade and roads blocked.

theoretically with GnG, crime for the whole area, should be reducing right? I base this on, since most places are gated, hence police would have less area coverage for their rounds, and should be more effective in apprehending them?

A house in USJ 12/3A was just broken into a while ago. As I type this, I think the police has not arrive.

Broken into by 4 chinese guys, in CRV WPC 8611 metalic grey.

They somehow managed to open the auto-gate, and broke the grill and front door. Fortunately, no one was in the house during the break-in.

A neighbour saw them, and that perhaps cut short their mission.

Hi there. Iím thinking of coming up with having those (volunteers) who will do the job with a bit of more challenging. For instance, rather than having guys on bikes flashing their torch at places & their bike sounds creating a warning to those culprits (this is during night). Using a bicycle to nab those culprits in a more quieter way, having radio equipment like walkies that covers the whole area for example USJ12 area, having a duty roster whereby each person will have to do rounds every 45minutes in their given routes such as back lanes (using bicycle will lower down noise , not disturbing the residents) , playgrounds/fields , any back alleys. Letting know nearby shops (24hours) & petrol station attendant/cashier to co-operate together to safe guard the area. Such measures should be practice to see how it goes. If itís a breakthrough, iím sure residents will co-operate too into making their place a home sweet home after all. Thereís more to say . More to look into. Hope I can discuss this to who ever .

Thank you.

Dear all,
I just got my self registered to SJalert and frankly I find it an effective communication channel where news travels like CNN keeping the community connected with latest news update.
As a resident of USJ 12,i'm concern over the security in this area..especially nowadays everyother USJ has been converted into gated and we are not or at least not yet to my knowledge ..in the last 2 weeks I believe USJ 12 has become a prime target for robbers to carry out their activities.Even today I was told somewhere in 12/3B house was robbed .Even my house was robbed back in Jan this year..I wonder if any serious security measures is under consideration for 12..thanks

House breakin at USJ12/3B on 12 Jan 2010 8pm - with owner at home

My neighbour on USJ 12/3B was broken into on 12 Jan approximately 8pm. The owner lady had just returned, left her bag downstairs and gone up for a shower. A thief came in via the backyard 1-panel window by breaking the window latch and unscrewing the iron grilles. The thief took her handphone, and money from her wallet. Footprints indicate that he had gone up to neatly ransack the upstairs room too. When he left, he carefully replaced the iron grilles and closed the window, as if nothing had happened.

The backyard of this road is gated up. I was not at home, but I was told that my dog at the back barked very fiercely for 10 minutes, and nobody came out to check why.

Thankfully the owner was unharmed.

Anyone in here belonging to USJ12/3 area? Do we have enough support to start a Residents' Association and/or guarded community?

I suppose residents are more connected now then before.

These are the number of members that SJ Alert has for some areas where there are no "Neighbourhood Watch groups"

USJ9 - 130 members
USJ6 - 175 members
USJ12 - 136 members
USJ2 - 254 members

you find a lot of new members who got to know of usj.com.my through SJ Alert, so you see some of their new postings.

For your information, when an area is guarded, the crime rate drops to zero.
Call any of the OCS in Subang Jaya to confirm this fact. On the other hand they will tell you that crime in USJ2, USJ6 and USJ12 continue to be high. Maybe the criminals are moving to areas that are not guarded?

Come to the Monthly Community Policing meetings (when Community leaders meet up with the Polis) and hear for yourself. If you are interested to attend give me a call and I will invite you to the next meeting.
