I work in Selangor, I stay in Selangor but my taxes goes to the Federal Govt... true?

Why can't I pay my obligatory taxes to the state I live and work in.....

Why should I pay taxes to the Federal Govt (http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2009/10/16/nation/20091016131036&sec=nation) when there is not assurance that my taxes would go to the right expenditures... and now is being suggested that taxes should not be channelled to PR States... but straight to the 'rakyat'... my contention is, would it really go to the 'rakyat' or "SELECTED" rakyat or wakil rakyat...

I think the regime had it all worked out in the past. No deal!..it goes to the Federal administration and they decide what to do with it all. Opposition held states become beggars for development or whatever need thereon..I suppose it was purposely that. I think only Zakat and Fitrah contributions are to the state. Why do you think they've so much $$ to do whatever..

You can if you live in USA where there are separated taxes for Federal, State, and City taxes. The taxes that you pay would be going for the projects or issues pertaining to the welfare of the states.
And there is why the are more subway or cops in New York as compared to the other states because the taxes were utilised to build what was necessary to upkeep the NY residents needs.

It's very easy. Nobody can stop you from donating money to the Selangor Government as goodwill. Of course, the check must be made payable to the government la.... if not.... :D :D :D

Ahh, it seems that the federal taxes is going to be channeled to the state where BN is in control....as suggested by an UMNO delegate. This is reported by the STAR today.
No wonder why USJ resident is so upset because he would see his tax money utilised by and for the Selangor resident.

sometimes back this issue was being discussed, there was a suggestion to channel the money to zakat instead (currently muslim is doing that). However it was reported the Rulers reject the idea of Zakat being used for other purposes other than islamic affairs.

The current system where federal control all the tax revenue has been in place since BN in power. When they hold back the development fund from the allocation to the PR states, it play to their advantage politically. but morally it has victimised the rakyat.

Where is the slogan of "rakyat didahulukan" in Najib's 1Malaysia. Totally crap.
