With the upcoming LRT running along Persiaran Jengka and possibility of a station near the field (pasar ramadan area), I would like to call upon SS18 residents or at the very least SS18/5 residents to consider making our area GnG. For those in favour, pls reply to this thread and we can see how this develops. Cheers !

Forumers and fellow SS18 dwellers...

It seems that our brethren in USJ3 and USJ11 have implemented G&G while other tamans have implemented Neighbourhood Watches. Crimes in those areas have dropped significantly, and the criminals are now shifting attention to the SS of Subang Jaya. Due to the older design with multiple entry/exit points, it's more difficult to make any G&G work without changes to the traffic flow.

In the mean time, is it feasible for us to form a Neighbourhood Watch to combat the increasingly rampant cases of robberies and burglaries and house break-ins?

Belum pernah makan cili belum tau pedasnya... those who are lucky enough not to be the victims would not know how the victims feel. Reading through the SJ Alert forum postings I am shocked to see so many cases of these crimes being committed in broad daylight!

Speaking to the local police force, they say they are really doing the best they can with the meager resources allocated to them by the Home Ministry. Moreover, those who are caught by the police are ultimately released after serving couple of months in jail, or even worse, after paying a fine (thank the scummy lawyers and the loophole-ridden laws for that).

In the mean time, what are we doing as fellow neighbours? Are we going to let these criminals terrorize our peaceful township? Are we surrendering our right to live without fear? Are we going to let the bad guys win?

We have a very supportive and down-to-earth YB as our ADUN for now. I'm sure she would actively support whatever things we do to make our little town a safer place to live in. Let's not be complacent and leave things to fate. We can make a difference!
