Just got my ALL the confirmations for hotel accomodation in the US... and boy! here's one happy and excited camper,.... can't wait for the holidays to start!!!
Anyway here's a tip for those going for holidays too. Forget those cheap offers and guarantees via internet hotel/travel websites like Travelocity, Priceline etc. etc.. or those "packaged deals"
Email the hotel concerned direct or better yet - call them [preferably via Skype or VoIP - cheaper too!!] Speak to the Duty Manager or Front desk Manager... [ask for hospitality or industry rates... it works better if you're in the hotel or travel industry]
We'd be gone for 10 days... and the hotel in front of Disneyland is letting us have a 2 Queen Bed Room for only USD59.00 nett!! :D
The rates in Vegas gets even better... USD 32 per night !! and mind you - its not the YMCA :D
Wishing you guys the same safe trips and Good luck

Vegas is really cheap...if you stay longer they might throw in free stay as well, and all those are 5 star hotels!
Food (buffet) are very cheap as well, in average is about 10 bucks!
O...btw....my info above is kinda old...but believe it wouldnt have change much?! :-)

The place where we were supposed to stay is a resort... online/internet rates were going for like USD89 ++ per night...
Since I have a Skype account... made the call to the US @ like 12:30 midnite here - [9.30am there!] spoke to the Resv office Duty Manager and wow... he offered us the rooms for USD32nett [with free breakfast to boot!! :D ]
Now get this - Skype call to US at 12:30am - USD 0.03cents per minute...[rm0.12sen!] THATS LIKE CHEAPER than potato chips!!! or our interstate calls... sheeesh!!

Wow...deal of the century! I always assume online deals are the best and lowest and you proved it wrong. Thanks for the tips!

I gave the tips - best you call/email the hotels in your area of visits.. and being America, they WOULD reply/respond to you.... :)

I recommend you check out www.tripadvisor.com on any hotels and read the comments - they are pretty reliable but note, there are conflicting comments (like this forum), so be a good judge, I normally read all the BAD comments first and then judge from there. I have been using them for last 5 years, so far so good ;)

Hahaaa... true, just like usj.com :p
Like what lwcheah said - read the reviews first, then email them DIRECT... how do you find the email address... google for their website and use the <contact us> link... if it goes directly to their webaddress or email, you're in luck, for a pleasant suprise...
