My wife and me went to CIMB to uplift our Fixed Deposit which matured today, but was told that we have to come back tomorrow because today hasn't completely past yet (not until after midnight tonight!). The bank was however willing to do it today, but they will deduct one-day interest.

We have never met with such problem with the many other banks that we deal with and have also never heard of such reasoning. Perhaps, the bank should have special arrangement for uplifting of FD, to be done at just past midnight? In any case, our money was deposited during daytime, when we did the FD.

Have any former here met with the same situation, perhaps with any other banks?

Go to Public bank, never encountered any unpleasant experience with them.

Service is fast and if your FD mature on sunday. when you withdraw on monday, ask the manager to give you extra one day interest.

Yes, we also have no problem with Public Bank so far.

In fact, today, we uplifted our another FD (at OCBC) which was placed on the same day as the one in CIMB and also maturing today. It was done smoothly and interest were paid in full. OCBC didn't even charge me anything for the cashier order!
