Staying at USJ4 and intending to it a home ...as I already got my house here.

What do I mean???

I mean never seen a place as dead as USJ4....especially the street I am living on USJ4/6F. Damn dead not even a single soul outside the house for you to say hello to. Besides the Alam Flora guys. Not on weekday...not on weekend...not at night and not in the morning. I guess my place must be only breathing one on the street.

How to make it livelier? How??

Errr..start talking to your neighbours maybe. Maybe that area is more secluded.

Throw a house-warming party for family and friends and don't forget to invite your immediate neighbours - 2 on the left and 2 on the right, and if in front got houses, 5 in front - normally BBQ will be good - we are ALL MALAYSIANS - we are TRUE MAKAN KAKIS !! No one would say no to food - also if neighbours don't want to attend, don't worry, at least you still have a party - just don't forget to send one invite this way also :p

before i get the sound of my mouth...the neighbours run into the house....the longest time i managed to chat with them was when I was getting their consent to renovate.

Going to have BBQ....nearing Christmas...nice holiday season.....will invite everyone on this thread and the 2-2-5 formula basis!!!!!!!!

ehmm...potluck...better kot!!!

wow Rajiv did not expected to see you on this thread. In fact the last I saw you are 'attacked' with so many complains on your thread, i just swallowed my complain....and thought some other time.

frankly speaking...the GnG concept is encouraging neighbours not to be bothered about each other...pay couple of ringgit every month and let some bangladeshi or nepalise to look out for us.....I just love this bolehland.

But i definately will look out for the RA for community based activity if any.

This should be discussed in the GnG thread - I am involved with the GnG in my area and we do not just depend on uniformed workers to jaga our grounds ... we are planning to engage the neighbours and getting them to know each other. The crux of the matter is, with the GnG commitment, we now have the platform to bring the neighbours together (see the report in our front page (http://www.usj.com.my) ). And by the way, I believe our jagas are locals, not foreigners ;) :)

How about a "Community Activity Zone" that connects a few "trip generators" (destinations that people would like to visit)

Combine pedestrian-friendly spaces with traffic calming areas and fully-accessible pavement (kerb ramps, tactile markings) that can be used by young and old, able bodied and those in wheelchairs or pushing strollers.

That would encourage more people to walk around their neighbourhood.

Ive been asked to help support the PJ City Council in their Community Activity Zone initiative for Jalan Gasing.

Where can we find a few trip generators in USJ that are not too far from each other, that people can safely walk to?

In Subang Jaya it is relatively easy, from the Petaling district building to Subang Ria park...what about USJ? How about from the USJ11 padang to the MPSJ building?

Cheers, m

Just came back to my extremely quiet neighbourhood after a long long break...and I think it became quieter..hmmm....anyways

@kwchang - when my healthy respect for fear turns to phobic and obsession and I need a fort to protect myself and family that I need to build a fort around my house I will visit the GnG.
Till then I remain with having a BBQ of sorts...a small scale one la huh...may be pot luck....you will be invited as well ler. Somewhere near Christmas okay.

@allurban - I am not pretty sure about the Jln Gasing kind of track in USJ, walking zig zagging through the traffic is not appealling but the parks within the residential zones are pretty good. I enjoy the walks in USJ4 (even though not as frequently as I hope)
