You need to distract her and get her away from the internet more ;)

Haha. I registered a facebook account only to contact long lost friends. Did not bother with any of the games...

My wife is milking cow in her 'virtual' farm but has not touched one in real life......

I think FB games are absurd.

Why are we blaming FB while we can't control ourselves lah...?? I'm in it, but not really into gaming, it's very useful to keep in touch with your distanced or long lost friends though. Let's be certain that we have a choice. :)

I have a Facebook account just to stay in touch with friends, log in only once a day or end of working day. I prefer LinkedIn for business contacts.

Facebook is a farce.

It's totally addictive!! Not the games, though. A terrific platform to keep in touch with friends and business associates. Being able to promote one's business for free is a real bonus. Facebook rocks! I'm not surprised to find many addicted to it, for whatever reasons. :D

My family, especially the kids have grown up with MIRC, ICQ, Skype, MSN, Friendster, Multiply etc but I don't see them using these anymore. Eventually people will get bored with Facebook too.

One think I really like about FB is that I have found quite a number of old schoolmates and ex-colleagues that I have lost touch for donkey years.

Facebook as well as Google makes more money thru selling of private information, namely yours. So be careful of what you put in.

Also, when you access this so called applications, there will be a disclaimer box forcing you to agree for them to use your information as well as those of your friends before you can continue. Why in the world would a game need your private information?

President Barack Obama had a blunt status update for America's high school students:-

Your Facebook postings could come back to haunt you.

Your Facebook postings could come back to haunt you. As long as one doesn't post anything incriminating, then there's nothing to worry about. Be smart and all is good. :)

they should have a warning message "You might be addicted!" before we accept any applications... of course that might lure more people to accept it.

Nowadays people are willing to be addicted to something... especially when working.... sambil working, sambil milking the cows for a virtual farm....

Economically... maybe FB is causing a real damage to a company's productivity.... probably that of an entire nation....

but who cares? FB is addictive because it gives instant gratification.... play now (with the illusions of "working") can give you return (instant, gratifying yet near-meaningless results).... Most people know the games will bring them to nowhere, but they still do it, because their life and jobs can't satisfy them as much..... so pathetic... but i guess that's how empty our aimless lives are in this modern, materialistic world....

Perhaps if we find ourselves addicted, it's time we aspire to do something greater in life... well, that's just me.
