It was said that the crooked knife brandished by our very own Krismuddin may to be sued for loyalities by Indonesia. And to think it is not bad enough, batik and wayang kulit have been recognised by UNESCO to be Indonesia cullture.
Now, I understand why our Ng Yam Yam was so interested to claim copyrights from laksa mana, roti chennai, kasi lemak to be Malaysian dishes..
But if they build a crooked bridge to Singapore may sure Malaysian Ministry patent it because it is definitely Malaysian Way to cross the bridge and defying the laws of basic mathematics. Straight line may not be the shortest from point A to B. That is not the point. The point is from B to N.

If we view the development of this country, it is closely intertwined with the culture of neighbouring countries as well as those who have come to this country to make it what it is today. It is a fallacy to start proclaiming symbols, dances, food, dresses and what not, as "ours" or flaunting objects or artificats as "ours". Why can't we come up with something which is a synthesis of what we have, something unique only to us that we can be proud of? Well the latest is that UNESCO recognises the wayang kulit and batik to be Indonesian in origin. So what have we left? Our hot air.

It should Art and Cultural Ministry. wonder why you said the home ministry and they are interested to grant Besital 2007 an interview? Moreover, he is just merely stating the facts on Unesco. The whole truth and nothing but the truth.
 What is this? Dont pull the moderators down into the water??This is not even a political issue.
BTW, the comments by besital 2007 is one of the example of being true Malaysian showing his concerns , otherwise he would have done something else like sweeping some sampah or lonkang in his backyard.

Whatever it is lah.....BAD FUNG SHUI to keep such weapons in the home. These ARE WEAPONS and primarily used to kill or seriously injure anyone.
I'm not entirely a firm believer in FS but there's logic to this, weapons are weapons and known to be used to kill people....PERIOD!
Please lah.. I don't have to write paragraphs about FS and its justification. Go figure yourself about keeping weapons around.
Besides I don't give a damn about anyone claiming some parang is entirely part of their own concoction and culture. So be it if anyone claim so, I won't loose sleep about it all.
BTW, the legendary and famed Hang Tuah keris "Taming Sari' originated from Indonesia as folklore tells it. Its now part of the Perak royal regalia...so?..

Maybe that is why Hang Tuah was yanked out of the sejarah textbook.

I thought Hang Tuah and his firends were half-myths ... especially Puteri Gunong Ledang - so you think it is true history? Anyway, this thread is also starting to get side-tracked

I think there was an article written by Farish Noor, who is now head of the Political Science Dept at National University of Singapore (NUS) discussing on who is the dalang (shadow play master) behind this "camapign" against Malaysia in Indonesia... that should stop us from even being bothered by all the petty issues being raised in Indonesia... maybe Ng Yam Yam don't do much reading.... afterall can't blame her right, our broadband is 48th among 66 countries surveyed....

Frequent cat (they're part of my family you know... :D ) fights got lah.. and wifey does keep some of those thorny plants around. Have to kasi chance lah.. I can't be be prohibiting any of her likes but once a while. But NONE of those plants inside the house though.
Anyway, it can't be any worse than keeping weapons inside the home. Those killer weapons I'd really abhor having around. If I need any for self defence, I've my kitchen cleaver and 1 anda half meter 1" thick ROTAN (gotten from from a rattan shop 2 decades ago) within easy reach.

kwchang, have you forgotten that years ago a University Malaya professor said that Hang Tuah and his group were actually Chinese samsengs from China. Hence their prowess in martial arts. Their names should be Hang Tu-Ah, Hang Jee-Bat, Hang Lee-Kui...all surname Hang (common in China) and very Chinese sounding names lah. No wonder Hang Tu-Ah is practically unbeatable! His kung-fu prowess outgunned all the locals. Each time I relate this to my aunt, she couldn't stop laughing till the tears roll out of her eyes and the poor lady (she's 80) almost choked as she rolled with laughter. Wifey warned me not to relate the tale again to her. Aiyah it is so plausible.

Does it make any difference to our life now if these were true history or myths?
