Personally, I'll go for the Harrier anytime. My GM drives the 2.5 Murano and somehow the interior doesn't seem classy as the Harrier. In terms of design, many I know would go for the Harrier unless the intention is to drive something that is not common as the Harrier.

I will choose the Harrier. The Murano doesn't have the oomph, looks sporty but if you really look at it long enough, it is a bit 'softie' to me...
The other thing is there is not much residual second hand value in the Murano comparatively.

the murano interior looks bland and dated...what about the x5 02 or 03 models...reliability issues and cost of maintenance high?

The Murano looks like a little plump fellow. X5's maintenance definitely higher.

X5 is certainly the best looking of the lot and has the rich man image even though struggling with loan and maintenance outlay...ha ha

Have you ever wondered if the designer of the Murano was a Power ranger fan?

X5 is certainly the best looking of the lot and has the rich man image even though struggling with loan and maintenance outlay...ha haThe 2001/02 model was a bit more squarish while the later models have nicer flowing lines. In fact looks less bulky than the early models. If its for outstation driving the X5 is nice but a bit clumsy for intra-city use, my opinion. Its higest and longest amongst the SUVs... shortest now is still the Mercedes ML350...
With the kind of money your friend wants to pay for a 01/02 BMW X5, might as well get a 2005/6 Volvo XC90 for the same cash outlay???

XC90 is a real steal for the money but lacking on the image..think he has made up his mind to buy the harrier...harriers have always been a hot car here..both for owners and car jackers..amazing high resale value...
