hi dreamz, yea, we should start a community really soon. action speaks louder than words. since you already have a group of neighbours with you, perhaps you can lead or call out for meeting. i just moved in not long ago... a couple of months back and my neighbours are pretty arrogant. they dont even smile back at you when you greet them. so, its really hard for me to even speak to any of them cos when im back from work, the sky is already dark. when im off to work, all of them is not up yet. and during the weekends, they lock themselves up in the house or either they are out. sigh...

Dear all,
I received below email from the member and posted here,
HOPE your all interested & we meet at Kopitiam 333 on 6th NOV (FRI) 830pm.
We will take our action to protect our loves one, our family to live here SAFE!
Dear Ladies and gentlemen,
There are only 3 types of people in the world;
- The type that make things happen
- The type that wait for things to happen
- The type who wonder what happened after it has already happened
I hope that all the people that receive this mail are people from the first group.
My name is Paramjit from No 39 USJ 9/3N. I have met all of you good people and we had discussed briefly about what we can do to increase the safety of our neighbourhood. Many options were tossed around. But I am glad to say that we have found more people from Group 1 from the other areas like USJ 9. As such we are looking at a larger initiative to fence up a portion of USJ with the hope of deterring future crime and once again making our homes and neighbourhood safe for ourselves and our loved ones.
There has come a point where people are afraid to leave their houses. There are muggings on the street. Cars have been stolen and broken into. Theft and break-ins are rampant. Any valuebles such as shoes or the like left outside the house go missing the next morning. This is not the way we must live. We can make a difference and a change if we unite ourselves.
We need all the help we can get to make this initiative work. As a start, we need residents of USJ 9 to provide feedback as to whether they consent to fencing up the area. We need at least 80% participation. For this reason, we need people from Group 1 who will walk with us from house to house to get the consent that we require. This is a mammoth task and at the moment we only have 7 people in our team. We hope to achieve this task by breaking up into teams and accompishing this over the coming weekend.
As such, please come out to help this cause. Husbands and wifes are all welcome. We can use all the help we can get.
We have a meeting at Kopitiam 333 on Friday the 6th Nov at 830 pm to discuss what we need to do to move forward. We will also be given the forms that we need to forward to the other residents. I hope that I can see as many volunteers as possible. We need people from group 1 to make this happen.
I also look forward to meeting all of you as its about time we neighbours get to know each other.
Regards
Paramjit Singh

I was told that USJ 9/5x area has difficulty to be covered due to the Mosque - lots of public accessing. Anyway, there must be some way it can be done. Hope to hear more people participating!

hi dontwh, I think it can be done. Maybe the last row of the house nearest to the mosque will have to be abandoned. Infact the whole usj9 is hard to cover due to many amenities like petrol stations and shops, and even a mosque. But i believe it can be done. Even USJ 2 is proposing to g&g, there are 2 big schools inside, shops & also petrol stations. USJ4/1 and 4/2 is in the midst of g&g too. I saw a mosque and school there too. If they can, I think USJ9 can be done also. Just have to plan it well.
Are you one of the resident of USJ9? Heard today there is a meeting in Kopitiam 333.

Why are you all so panic-stricken? Do you know who will be laughing you guys?
(1) Security companies- good business for them.
(2) Self interest groups.
(3) Criminals because you can put up fences, gates and what not, if they are hell bent on robbing you they can still do it. So get REAL children!!
As the number of GnGs grow, I am becoming suspicious this is not actually just fanned by rampant crimes but someone - maybe political, or self interested groups may be encouraging this sort of illegal movements- hijacking roads and taking the law into their own hands. Easier job for the police. They should be smiling.
Many of you say the crooks will now concentrate on non-GnG areas. True and not true.
True because they will hit the easier target first but later may go for those in GnGs. Also is it possible that some security firms may be doing this? I have read comments in certain blogs where those who are not RA members end up being robbed despite being in GnG. How come?
Not true because crooks can still break into GnG houses.
In fact police patrol cars may go to non GnG more.
Are we living in a Ali Baba and the 40 thieves era where doors of houses are marked because they do not carry the RA plaque?? Are some residents under undue influence to sign up fearing that if they don't security firms may target them - or if they are not the crooks, the non-members will be treated like 2nd class citizens what with the coloured stickers of their cars.
There is also a growing movement by people who do not support this kind of GnG. So committee members of RA- watch out. We may sue you all for blocking so many roads. This is not the way to do it.
You all are setting a blaze of panic.
