If you are a member of SJ Alert, you can send an email to request participation from the residents from USJ3.
We have 130 residents in the USJ3 Precinct who are members of SJ Alert about 60 of them are on SJ Alert EMS.

Robert,
I notice USJ3/1 had put up fencing around, barricaded some entraces and stationed security guards at Gate A & B.
Not sure if this will extend to other areas in USJ 3 - eg 3/2,3/3 and 3/4 ? I stayed in USJ 3/3 and noticed guards stationed around my areas 2 months ago and had paid twice for the security service...but was upset that no proper briefing was given to residence in usj3/3 concerning guarded service, infos about security co etc....is there anyone in USJ alert that may assist me with this infos ? in particular, i want to know whether fencing will be put up around usj 3/3 and if the security co providing service in ujs3/3 and 3/1 are from the same co ?
Thanks.

We will be distributing this flyer on this coming Sunday, see below,
Dear USJ 3/4 Residents,
Crime rate in the USJ area has never been low, and it is shifting to areas more open and convenient. A few more GnG communities will be set up these few months, for example USJ 2 and 4, and this will indirectly “invite” more burglaries to areas that are not guarded, and hence more vulnerable to OUR HOMES..
As USJ 3/4 residents, it is very important to start our GnG community as soon as possible. ACT BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!
We are organizing our first kickoff meeting at 5:00~6:30 PM Sunday 25th October 2009, Padang USJ 4/6A, to form a pro-tem committee to work on this project.
We need your full support and participation to make this GnG project a success, just like the recent USJ 11 and USJ 3/1 and 2 GnG projects.
Agenda:
• Get to know your neighborhood and RA members
• Election of road representatives
• Election of working committee members
• Action plans
• Next meeting date
If you have any questions, please write to us at usj3-4gng@googlegroups.com.

Something to share,
Dear Residents,
to prevent such happenings , it is good to do and have the following :
a) CCTV ( good quality cameras with audio preferred )
b) Alarms in the house
c) Inform your neighbours if no one is in ( give them your contact nos )
d) If you see any suspicious vehicle eg.,
1) Lorry, Van, any big MPV/SUV ( tinted ) parked in front of a neighbours house, hide and observe, if you see anything suspicious, call your local police station,
even if it is a false alarm, it is OK, no cop is going to penalise you , play safe rather than be sorry later. These crooks use big vehicles to block the view of houses
in front . Try not to dry your laundry in front porch as this can also be used as a cover.
e) Keep a dog if you like pets, even a small breed can make the same noise as the big fellows. If you hear a neighbour's dog barking, please come out of your
comfort zone and take the trouble to find out what is irritating the dog , a dog only barks when he see's strangers... call the police if you suspect anything fishy.
f) ACTIVATE YOUR CAR OR HOUSE ALARM if you suspect anything. Remember, these crooks do not like attention and any sound
of alarm is not a good music for them. Other neighbours can chorus on this by activating their cal alarms in unison. More noise better MAH !
g) You can also fix a siren in your home, activate it when the need arises.
Remember : Automatic gates has a wireless frequency and there is a device from China that can read your digital code and these crooks can save it
and unlock your gate . Nothing is fool proof these days.
Remember , being a busybody can make a difference in the safety of your neighbourhood without the need to take the law into your own hands
by illegaly barricading gazetted public roads. Any road tax paying motorist can take you to court and sue you for inconvenience.
This is a fact and I am only sharing the truth of the matter.
A caring neighbourhood is a safe neighbourhood. Get to know your neighbours today , invite each other for a cuppa and exchange phone nos.
Have a safe n pleasant week.

See than happend today during lunch hour, thanks Suzie for the update.
My husband has just witnessed the drama of police officers chasing a
stolen white Proton Pesona. It end up crashing into an incoming
Advanza at USJ 3/4U. The suspects were a man and a woman but somehow
the woman managed to escaped the scene (they look like Pakistani).
Thank God the ederly man and a kid in the Advanza were not really
hurt, they were however taken to the hospital. The thief even managed
to swiped the license plate.
I hereby urge fellow neighbours who have yet to give your feedback to
the GnG proposal to quickly approach your lane leaders and sign
up.Time is so crucial, only few of us are left without GnG, we are
very vulnerable to the predators.
Again this is not a lifestyle that we are following but all for the
purpose of our safety. Please act now.
Thank you.

1* Jz a correction to update the exact colour of the proton persona..it is not white in colour..but it is Metal Grey(colour confirmed by me checking proton official web) frm what i saw jz now when i passed by in d noon at 1.30pm.
2* Jz my 2 cents for ur typing/spelling error. Advanza?..Itz Avanza.
3*Swiped the license plate?(or is it swapped the license plate?) i don,t really get ur point..mind to elaborate more about it in detail?thx..=)
4*Jz to add on some additional information regard the Metal Grey Proton Persona,s registration number plate was WQS 6789 (i think most probably fake).

Minutes of 8th Nov 2009 meeting

10-11-2009, 04:35 PM
Repost for easier reading. Thanks.
1.0 Start Of Meeting
The meeting started with Welcoming JKP Rajiv (MPSJ councilor) with introduction of MPSJ complaint-system and clarification of GnG.
2.0 Election of Pro-tem Team
The group has decided to start with Pro-tem committee setup for USJ3/4 GnG. Proceed to RA if required in the future.
Official USJ3/4 Pro-tem Structure as below,
President – Yeo Chin Pang
Vice President - Michael Leong
Secretary – Suzie
Treasurer - Mohamed Azlan
Account Auditor - Abu Bakar
Legal Advisor - Sumathi
Committee Members - All Road Representatives (Please refer to Road Reps list)
3.0 Guarded Community
The group suggested to start guarded community as initial stage to attract participation and also due to urgency as the festive seasons are just around the corner. It was also stressed that the residents must realize that it will be run and monitored by the Pro-tem and not the security company like what happened previously.
Meanwhile Road representatives will continue pursuing residents for the 85% GnG agreement.
Ong (Resident from USJ3/4) and pro-tem team will acquire pricing from few security companies for discussion and comparison on next meeting. We need to have a more accurate cost estimate to present to the residents.
4.0 Next Meeting Venue
There was a suggestion from a member to move the meeting to USJ 4 Primary school’s canteen for a better meeting place. George John volunteered to contact the school for such possibility.
Other alternative will be Restaurant Azizah or remain at Padang USJ3/4P.
5.0 Next Meeting Agenda
5:00 ~ 5:15PM – Opening Speech and Welcoming VIP (TBA)
5:15 ~ 5:45PM – Security Company Discussion, Quotations.
5:45 ~ 6:20PM – Detailed Procedures, scopes, start date, etc.
6:20 ~ 6:30PM – Next Meeting Agenda & AOB.

1. Start Of Meeting
The meeting started with the introduction of Sergeant Balan and team from Balai Polis Taipan. He gave a short briefing on the operation of the Subang Police team. Sergeant Balan acknowledged the lack of manpower, as there are only about 60 police personnel being stationed throughout Subang. On the absence of police, patroling in our area, he explained that currently there are only 6 patrol cars on active duty in 3 shifts in whole of Subang. The same team responds to any emergency calls. There are also plain-clothes policemen on Kawasaki and Scramblers. He also further gave the statistics on crime rates in USJ 3 and 4.
Sergeant Balan also welcomed our representative to join in the monthly meeting with the police at the USJ 8 Police Station, every 3rd week of the month, on Friday @3.30pm.
The meeting was later moved to Mr Ghulam’s house due to the rain.
2. Security Guard
Kawalan Keselamatan Sentral led by Mr Muneeswaran and Mr Param from Inland Security were present at the meeting. Mr Muneeswaran explained on how he intends to operate and guard our area. He said he is currently using Rela personnel as security guards as they are more reliable than foreigners. A quotation was requested from both companies for further action

Re-post from SJ Alert,
Dear Residents
The following information were given to Community Policing Members (JKPCP) during the monthly meeting at Balai Polis USJ.
House Breakin (day/night)
A total of 54 reported cases (37 cases in September 2009)
The highest number of break-ins occurred in USJ2
If you live in a Community where your Neighbourhood Watch Group has employed Security Guards please do not be complacent. You have to be equally vigilant taking the usual precautions with your home. There were 2 reported breakin cases in the guarded USJ5 area.
Stolen Motor Vehicles (Cars/Vans/Lorries/Jeeps & Motorcycles)
32 cases of stolen Vehicles (27 cases in September 2009)
20 cases of stolen Motorcycles (19 cases in September 2009)
There are no specific areas where Vehicles thefts occur so please make sure you secure your cars.
Robberies
Robberies have dropped to 8 cases (18 cases in September 2009)
In general the crime rate in USJ has remained stable, but has shifted to areas that do not have active Neighbourhood Watch Groups.
The criminals will find less places to operate, which would make them more vulnerable to detection by the Polis, just make sure we are all vigilant to alert the Polis when we notice suspicious characters in our neighbourhood.
Polis advisory - we must fight back
We need to make sure that criminals are not even safe in their own homes
If you notice your neighbours behaving suspiciously i.e.
a) sleeps all day and is not around in the night
b) no apparent work regiment
c) coming back home at odd hours of the day
d) frequent visitors at odd hours of the day.
c) suspicious odours etc
give the Polis a call and get them to investigate.
There have been cases where information by alert neighbours have helped Polis in apprehending criminals in their homes.
Polis patrol with residents
Once again the Polis are offering to patrol housing areas with residents even at short notice, To all Neighbourhood Watch Groups, please contact Chief Inspector Tuan Loi Yew Lik directly @ 012-4118843 to make the necessary arrangements.
Community Policing Members (JKPCP)
If you want to have a clear picture of the crime situation in USJ, you are cordially invited to come join us as a Community Policing Member (JKPCP). I understand that there is room for more members.

Got this from forwarded mail,
"Dear All,
People always talk about people knowing people knowing people who have had their houses broken into. Well my home in Damansara got broken into yesterday!
I was home alone on sick leave and sleeping when I heard the loud sounds of someone hammering my front door. At first I thought it was my brother who had come back for something he had forgotten since he just left the house about 1-2 minutes ago and I didn't think much about it... only on the second loud thump did I realise something was amiss and got up to see what was going on but it was too late since there were already people in my house.
I heard voices though I could not hear what they said. They were walking up the stairs and I quickly locked my bedroom door and my toilet door. Once they realized my room door was locked, they started to ram down my bedroom door - I believe they still did not know that anyone was in the house at that time - But by this time, I had already opened my window and by the grace of God (I was having flu and sore throat), I started shouting "tolong" "tolong" "help"! It was a miracle my neighbors were still at home, and answered my shouts for help and responded.
When the idiot robbers heard the shouts and heard my neighbors responding, they ran out. My neighbors saw them leaving – the 2 Chinese guys who had entered my house and the driver, a Malay/Indon guy. They got into their new grey Honda Accord with the license plate WRL 1686 (they were probably fake plates!) and sped off.
After they left, I walked through my house and found that nothing was stolen as they did not have time although one of my parents drawers was opened and rifled through. They also took a pillow case in the hopes that they could fill it up with valuables but they discarded that at the front of my door while leaving. We also found a lighted cigarette burning by the side of my door, placed carefully at the edge of the shoe cabinet – can you believe they had time to freaking smoke!
Well, we called the police. They were slow as usual. The four of them didn't come into my house to check if anyone was still inside until we asked them to – idiots! They instead, huddle outside on my front porch taking notes on a tattered green 60 sen notebook. A policeman (the kind that has had too many goring pisang and kuih lapis) even asked me about my dad's fish and where my dad had bought them as he too wanted to buy the “ikan guppy yang berwarna-warni” for his house. There were no dusting of prints, or taking of photos or collecting evidence like we see on TV. They just asked us to go to the police station to make a report and that was that. After thinking about it, I guess that was all I could expect. After all, who was I? No one famous, not someone with a “name or a pangkat”. I am just another face in the sea of millions. There were of course more important things to do like finish their nasi lemak, kuih and teh tarik.
So, here I am back at work. My doors are being replaced along with security alarms. I wish this didn’t happen but it did and this is my hope for all of you, to go home and to take a look at your homes and at the doors. As you may notice (see photos attached), they didn’t touch the locks. Locks don’t deter them. They went right for the gates/grills/doors. So make sure your gates/grills/doors are of quality and if you don’t already have an alarm system, perhaps this is the right time to get one. This is one investment that will not let you down. I dread to think of my bedroom door breaking and of my wonderful neighbors not coming to my aid. I doubt I would be here sending this email out but by the grace of God I am here.
So, you know the drill, pass this on."

A house in USJ 12/3A was just broken into a while ago. As I type this, I think the police has not arrive.
Broken into by 4 chinese guys, in CRV WPC 8611 metalic grey.
They somehow managed to open the auto-gate, and broke the grill and front door. Fortunately, no one was in the house during the break-in.
A neighbour saw them, and that perhaps cut short their mission

Dear All
My neighbour was away for 2 nites and back this morning, discovered there were thieves broke into the house.
They went in from the roof at the back portion and entered into the upstairs side hall.
Almost the whole house was ransacked and all the upstaris lights were on to look for valuable items. What was lost yet to ascertained.
These thieves seem familiar with the roof structure.
Looking forward to have our own security fast!

Hi Friends & Neighbors,
Just to inform you that there is a break-in case happened in Mr Yong’s house on 15 Dec about 1~2pm.
The thief broke in from the front.
A small lorry (3~5 tonner) which looked like delivering some furniture rounded the road at about noon time that day, and spotted stopped few times at our lane.
Please help to keep an eye on each others’ house on this holiday season (especially the Christmas & New Year long weekend).
You may contact police directly if you spotted any suspicious persons/objects.
You may also give me a call if you need to contact to our neighbors.
I will try my best to assist.
Together, we make a better living place.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi would like to check whether is the gated and guarded security plan for USJ3/4 still going to proceed?
Would like to know who to contact for this plan?
Knowing that the crime rate in USJ is quite high..... why not take action before more crimes occur in our homes?

Well Jan,
Did you know there were kidnapping cases in USJ?
Not just petty robberies as you thought!
There may also be cases where our family and friends were hurt which was not revealed in the papers as little help it did when I made a report at the police station at 8am in the morning, I was the 4th victim already of that day.
Four years ago, i was nearly kidnapped at the front of my home. A place where everyday I walked in and out.
Three kidnappers came at me, one with a knife and they nearly managed to grab me into their car. After I fell and drop my belongings, they still came after me. It is very obvious there were after more than just MONEY! By the grace of god, I was saved by someone and nothing untoward happened.
Do you actually live in the USJ area that you are ignorant of these cases?

I really hope that the committee that has started this project would revisit the idea of having a gated and guarded security.
If we establish this system, it will make our homes a safer place to stay.
Otherwise, think of it in monetary sense, if our area is considered a safe area, the value of our property will be enhanced. Maybe in future, when you plan to sell, you may actually fetch a higher value.
Take USJ 11 for example, few years ago, families are moving out of the area due to the high rise of crimes happening in that area. Look at it now, the value of the property in that area was enhanced by the gated and guarded security.
Wouldn't you as a home owner hope we can establish a similar concept?

I have some questions:
1. Anyway what is the crime rate in USJ in comparison to other urban areas?
2. Why USJ11 is target specifically?? a lot of show off cases kah??
3. How much the value depreciated? (some depreciation is good la...it gives oppurtunity for the young professionals a chance to buy a home bigger than a pigeon hole. Now seems only Ah Longs, smugglers, cronies ...oh ya of 'business'man/woman can buy real sized houses)

That's strange. A friend of mine in USJ 11/3 said he wanted to move out because he is sick of being all fenced up. When he invited me to his CNY party this year, I told him that I do not wish to visit his "prison". He said property prices have in fact fallen in USJ 11 because of the FnG.
It seems many residents are getting sick of being hemmed up - they have to make big detours every day when they go to work and when they return from work. All their roads have gantries.
Also they still have many burglaries and even vandalism.

Why-lah, people?? If what Jewel has posted are facts of what nearly happened to her, it is in bad taste to make "jokes" out of it. :(
Why attack each other when the blames lie squarely on our HOME MINISTRY for its total failure to safeguard our safety & properties? If both sides of these groups can go after this ministry as vehemently as they did each other, maybe there's hope for a better quality of life in our neighbourhood & for some peaceful co-existence-lah.
Looking at all the guards, gantries, oil drums placed here & there, people, we are truly under SIEGE ... from thieves, robbers, kidnappers and OURSELVES.
aiyaah...no need to be so cruel.
i agree about better being safe than sorry. I would not be suprised if there had been kidnapping cases in USJ. It is possible. :(
Police should beef it up. And I wonder how PEMANDU measures the crime rate. As lately they are reporting drop in crime rate.
