i used to have the problem now but its gone already. have you done a MRI to confirm that your spine is giving the problem.
If you are over weight, cut down your weight as it is giving impact to your lowerback and knee to support your weight...
lay down with your back face up. then put a hotpack of course wrap the hotpack with a towel and put it on the lower pack. put it for 15 to 20 mins only. remember when is too hot. take it out and wrap it with another layer of towel.. if not u will get heat burn.
maintain a good posture. sleep on a cyropatic mattress... do more excersie ,,,,

If you are game for a Chiqong master to test you out, PM me too, I will pass you a contact. He stays in USJ4.

I started to have lower back pain this May09. It comes when i sleep more than 8 hours... otherwise it's ok. Once i get up of the bed and stretch, it goes away. I always enjoy sleeping till now.
What is wrong?
I went to chinese sinseh and he said i injured myself when performing sport (which i don't know at all). Some guys said i am over-concerned. I can accept pain if it is due to exercise...but now it is due to sleeping. Not overweight too...72kg-170cm. I'm just 32 years old & i don't wish to have this for the rest of my life.

I'm not overweight. I used to have injury on my left side of lower back.
Don't know why there are so many quack doctors around. Minor problem also can't solve. :(

How can a chiqong master help for spinal injuries ?
Let me tell you straight - I don't know.
All I know is I have got a friend whose wife has a slipped disc and couldn't move, she moved and went to work after a visit or two with this chiqong guy. Hey, there is nothing to lose... but you need to wait for your turn coz he can only do 1 case a day, he loses his energy and strength after a strenous case each time.

If the kung fu masters cannot do much help, go to a certified hiropractor. But the best person to advise you is ortho surgeon. and always seek second opinon if situation not improved or surgery is being advised.
And spinal problem is not minor, my friend. It can make or break you as your mobility is depended on the nerve via the spinal cord. But then again, so are the pain sensations as bundles of nerves are in nthe connection as well.
The other similar problem is at the cervical which is the neck joints.
I feel you man, as I have cervical problem which I was advised by my surgeon - take medication, go for surgery, traction therapy or neck exercise and wear a dog tag - which is a big collar around your neck.
Spinal injury is a serious matter as it can be stressful and worsen if not treated with care. As for diet, take vitamin E and zinc to improve the cartilages in the bones. People take zinc in seafood to improve sex life , I take mussels and chicken cartilages to improve my joints at my cervical.
That's why we have aptly phrases - You are a pain in the neck and dont go breaking my back.

Chewie, have a look at your bed (ie mattress) and get a good one endorsed by the Chiropractors Association. We spend 1/3 of our life in bed so its worth the money. I had restless sleep too but wifey gave me a RM500 pillow as a birthday present some years back and I have been sleeping like a baby since....

Hi Ng,
Prolong back pain must see orthopedic /neurosurgent specialist Doctor. Have MRI taken, if due to slip disc with broken disc discharge pressing nerve, operation is unavoidable, otherwise you may go for sinseh, physiotherapy, chiropractor, chigong etc.
I had slip disc operation more than 10 years ago, after tried all traditional means, wasted so much $, finally, they told me, they are unable to remove the soft disc that pressing nerve, which causing leg pain and backache.
I get back the pain few years ago, after physiotherapy, it was gone.
Hope with now latest technology , you don't have to go thru pain I suffered.

The word should be clavicle not cervical lah, zinglicious.
Clavicle is the collar bone
Cervical spine refers to the neck bone
Cervical cancer refers to the "neck" of the womb
Hope that clarifies matters

Thanks. As for the dog tag , it is called the cervical collar, not dog collar. And for the spine support which could be used for keeping your tummy in place as well, is called the lumbar support.
Pain in the neck and dont go breaking my back....

Just another overlooked pain downunder.
Cervical cancer is abnormal mutated cell found in the "neck" of the womb.
Not just pain, but deadly isfnot detected and treated accordingly.

Try prolotherapy.
I had slip disc 10 years ago. I had tried many chiropractors and Chinese massage & accuputure, but it doesn't help till I gone through this prolotherapy.
I'm now playing soccer with my son, futsal and golf :)

It is a new treatment being used to treat low back pain. I think this practice was started to generate interests just few years back in the states. How many Malaysian doctors using this technique? Maybe patloo13 can provide info.
But still dont understand how it actually can help in slipped disc as I thought it can be done by surgical, physical manipulation, traction or lumbar support.
Even analgesic injectable can only ptovide temporary pain relief and does not retify slipped disc.

U can google, or see Dr Rosman, an orthopedics at Damansara Specialist Hospital (Tel : 03-7722 2692), who was the first few doctors doing this in Malaysia.

Prolotherapy is a series of injections given by the doctors at the sites of injury which somehow helped to alleviate pains by repairing the tissue or act as a cushions to prevent pains.
How it works, still have no proper or medically acceptable medical explanation.
It is something like accupunture treatment to be explained at best.
Well, they are so many reasons for the pain & it's hard to provide a near solution.
Every case is different and with different remedy.
I had similar problem with my lower back but now it's almost gone after constant swimming.
Breast Stroke is not recommended for those with bad back.
Freestyle is the way to go---do it completely both ways---ie head turning right for air & also head turning left for air....(that's the best I can put it.) :D
