I'm really sad and mad to read such news about USJ!

BTW, I also wonder why Alam FLora together with MPSJ couldn't provide a dumpster for each precint? So that residence dumps bigger items, there.

You think that is bad?.. just go to some low cost flats or Goodyear courts within USJ area. Those residents just throw their waste around the bin ESPECIALLY when its full or just plain don't care attitude. Within 3meters of the bin is often VERY SMELLY and filthy. The waste disposal contractor responsible often DOES NOT PLACE the bin in its proper place therefore encouraging waste all around. and a filthy smelly car park lot there.
I don't expect Hannah to go round checking the situation everywhere but could make it an agenda one fine day just by driving around some flats at USJ 7, 8 and 14. I mean the non gated flats, also where numerous foreign labor or students are likely residing.

I think Alam Flora SHOULD install public waste bins for residents to dispose. But then again, this is cowboy country. People may fill up the bin with construction waste or all sorts there. who knows.. Terrible prospect in this issue and ugly habits at large.

it seems that Hannah does not have all the facts, or have gotten it wrong.

t was mentioned that for USJ, the garbage collection is thrice weekly on mondays, wednesdays and friday. whereas bulky and garden waste is collected on tuesdays and thursdays

at my place in USJ4, they collect the domestic waste on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays. and as for the bulky and garden waste..? tak pernah nampak pun batang hidung alam flora. the garden waste will just be left right in front of the house and never collected at all, and the bulky items, no need to ask lah.

i would not mind paying at all, but they just couldn't be bothered

I have a strange feeling there's an element of selective and preferencial schedule applied here. Some places more, some less, some none at all. What else could it be? Underpaid and overworked?

I have also noticed a few cars that are abandoned in the USJ4 area. They have been there more than 6 months. Does anyone know if it is against any by-laws on this and who to file the complaint with ?

this is highly possible. seeing that the payment for alam flora is under the cukai pintu (or was it cukai tanah?), the distribution of funds might have not trickled enough to them.

i've also seen these cars around USJ4 and USJ3 areas. i do suppose that it is against the by-laws and perhaps it should be under MPSJ.

And what do you do? I guess you didn't even bother to call Alam Flora or MPSJ to complain about their non collection. And so how do you expect the supervisor or the management to know? As for me, I have the Alam Flora Toll Free line (1-800-880-880) or MPSJ Hotline 03-56376545) and on top of that the hand phone number of the supervisor in charge of my area. I will not hesitate to call all these 3 numbers if collection in my area are unsatisfactory. I will also threaten them to dumb my domestic waste at their office if the garbage is still not collected after a certain deadline. And it is very effective. Do you know MPSJ will penalise the contractors if they are doing a lousy job and this is based on residents' complaints?

I have also noted down their email address feedback@alamflora.com.my. I can also send them a sms ALAM <space> MESSAGE <send> to 33310. Now where do I get all these information? Simple. They distribute their flyers on 3 occasions to all houses in this community but I guess instead of keying in all the useful contact channels in your hand phone, most of you have returned them to sender by chucking those flyers into your garbage bags that were collected back by Alam Flora and then you come here and complain about non collection. Very ironical.

In my area domestic waste are collected on Tue, Thur and Sat. Garden waste are collected twice a week and bulky item are cleared twice a month. Very easy to suggest placing a big community bin and like the proverbial belling the cat, the question is near whose house are they to place the bin? Obviously not in my backyard.

Does anyone know if it is against any by-laws on this and who to file the complaint with ?These abandoned cars have been there since more than 5-6 years ago. They are not from USJ4 residents, we suspected then they were from USJ3 across the main road.... but I am sure the authorities can decipher the chassis and engine numbers and then force the owners to pay for the cost of removing these eyesores. Maybe ADUN YB Hannah should do this as a warning to others thinking to carrying the same stunt of abandoning their cars in her constituency....

do not be so quick to judge and jump to conclusions. firstly, given the fact that we have paid for alam flora's services in our cukai, it should be on them to collect the wastes, and not on us to call them up everytime.

and i did call alam flora and mpsj to voice my dissatisfaction. and no, i didn't go to the level of threatening either of them.
