I'm organising my school classmates reunion in a small town.I'm already kepala pening. At first I want to have together with our families, all reject it! simply for memebers only.I tell them since most of us stay in SJ and know each other it better to have a family affair over the weekend-they say tak boleh!.Can't reaaly tahan them, the last time we had 120 pax we paid the hotel bill for beer alone RM6,000.00!believe it or not, mind you 3/4 of them don't drink!ANy suggestions?

I suggest you hold it in a club. Generally, drinks are cheaper if booked by the club member. I am sure some of your mates are club members. Also my view on these re-unions is mainly to recall the crazy times and the good old days. spouses and kids will not understand the emotions.

Should be around 100 pax.You see before the function started most of them already half drunk, some talking nonsense and disturb the MC talking.Susah! i 'll try to call the Old MB Datuk Nizar from PAS to attend and he is our alma mater .

Then definetely no guiness stout would be served, just tongkat ali kopi if Nizar is invited.... Save on liqour bills!
Anyway, an easy way to control the bill is not to opt for open bar... drinks paid by those who order it. It called the cash bar!
In US, it is widely praticed in many parties or college functions. At some parties guests would be given a coupon of one beer or liqour. If the guests wants more,,,then he got to fork out his cash.
But then again, some rich dudes might opt to foot the bills midway, Open Bar,Let's Party!

Soft drinks free flow. Every one attending and paid get a coupon for a beer or liquor. Anything more, cash bar!

Even if it is a reunion, many are free-rollers when it comes to free beers... strange behavior!
