I am trying to buy a baby monitoring system but the good one, cause a lot: . I am sure it could be cheaper, see handphone now so cheap also got many features. So I want to get a walkie talkie which are cheaper, but I need to make 1 unit to be on the talking mode all the time so I can hear any sound from a baby, can it be done?

Yes it can be done. But it will drain the battery very fast on continuous transmit and also it will jam the channel.

Since I will be putting it on a stationary position, I will just plug it into the wall socket with the power adapter without even putting on the battery, can this be done?

How much does a set of walkie talkie cost, in comparison with the baby monitor?

Get a Walkie Talkie (Citizen band) with Vox system.
Transmission activate only when baby sound is heard.

Cheaper still : Buy an amplifier with mic & wire the speakers to your room / hall.

Every time baby cries... you jump~!

Then some times if a baby cannot breath or choke... there will be no sound...
better let baby sleep near where u work... or work near baby's bed.
