As at 2.00pm today, you can fly to Subang Airport, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Petaling Jaya and Singapore from the 3K Komplex. It is 100% opened. Hip hip hurray. The end of trafic jams in Jalan Kewajipan and hopefully elsewhere.hahahaha you wish, my dear friend. If that is what happens, it came at a huge huge cost.
Opening up for traffic to exit SJ is definitely good. My worry is when they open up for traffic to come into SJ. Then.....pray that my fear us unfounded. That there may be a gridlock during peak hours especially after office hours. And especially the areas around Metro College, SS12 and Sunway. Pray hard I am wrong. And for once in my life, I want to be wrong !I saw a car coming down from the ramp at SJMC towards the metro roundabout today - approximately 5:30 pm....so perhaps it has been opened in both directions. Someone better confirm this asap.

Im also worried because...currently the mini-bus stops right at the foot of that ramp. MPSJ better start warning people not to wait for their buses there. Then there are the Sri KL kids and their parents. Drivers coming out of SS12 at that point better be extra careful also.

there are still drivers who try to cut queue(heading towards Kewajipan roundabout and Sunway)from the outer lane that leads towards the Subang-Kelana Jaya link, seems like a bottle neck at that area

Are there more cars going towards Kewajipan roundabout and Sunway or more cars using the flyover towards Federal Highway? I used thed flyover this morning, very smooth, only 2 cars on it including mine.

Most people are not aware that it has been opened. No signs at the entrance to the flyover in front of the 3K complex. I passed it this morning and avoided it as I was not sure how the traffic merging into the Federal Highway was going to be like. Since I usually take the flyover in front of my e-Tiara apartment, I can foresee a danger at the road joining to the Federal Highway.

The traffic merging to the Federal Highway was no problem as I was being very cautious.

We should probably merge the two threads

Went to see it yesterday, sat at SS14 off Kewajipan next to the workshops and just watched what happened

I saw:

1. Cars in the right lanes of Kewajipan cutting left sharply to get to the roundabout instead of going up the flyover - I realize there are no clear signs at the Kewajipan-KESAS interchange

2. Cars exiting from SS14 crossing 2 lanes of traffic to get onto the flyover - I realize there is no proper barrier and no other exit from SS14

3. Cars backed up at the Kewajipan-KESAS traffic lights reach as far as the base of the flyover - this is about 7:30 pm and it is dark - imagine how it would be at 6pm with more cars on the road? - I realize there are no speed breakers or warning signs on the flyover

4. Buses stopping just after the exit from SS14 to drop off customers - I realize there is no clearly marked bus stop on either side of Pers. Kewajipan

5. This morning I used the link to get over the Federal Highway and down to the Metropolitan Roundabout. I see no merge sign and there are no speed breakers going down the ramp.

MPSJ councillors are rightly fuming.

definitely more cars towards the kewajipan and sunway, therefore there is a long queue as a bottleneck as some drivers will drive on the outer lane heading towards the new link trying to cut into the queue, while drivers coming up from kesas also trying to squeeze in trying to get into the lane to drive to either Kewajipan roundabout or Sunway.

YES....LIKE MY LAST ARTICLE IN SJECHO, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH LACK OF COMMON SENSE .....

Article in the Star Subang-Kelana link now open for use (http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?file=/2009/8/21/central/4558439&sec=central) has comments from drivers, some guy from TRANSIT and MPSJ Councillor Theresa Ratnam.

Wifey and I took the link around 8:00 pm yesterday...towards Summit

We noted the traffic jam as soon as we went over the Metropolitan roundabout - in good time to slow down ... but still, speed breakers are necessary.

Traffic was backed up on Kewajipan up to the 3k and up on the flyover as well, at least 5 cars deep.

We sat in traffic for about 8 minutes so cars must have piled up behind us.

We noticed lots of people changing lanes - a problem of weaving in this area is going to be magnified.

Enjoy the link but please drive carefully

Cheers, m

Driving from 3K to Motorola via S/KJ flyover (average traffic) at 11.00am (Thur) took about 8 mins. Nice drive.

Passed nearby the Kewajipan roundabout at about 12.35pm today. Saw a car reversed and parked next to some plastic dividers at the downward slope of the new link that goes to the roundabout. The driver's safety awareness must be -0. I think he is waiting to pick a kid from Sri KL School. Now the kid will probably think that parking in such a place is ok.

Subang Jaya ADUN YB Hannah Yeoh & Councillor Theresa questioned JKR why allow Subang-Kelana Link to be opened without addressing several pertinent issues.

Cannot believed my eyes when I drove along this new link this evening from Carrefour end after downpour. It was flooded at 2 locations before i landed at the old airport road. Poor drainage system ? - or was it clogged up ???

Ive already noticed things like t-shirts, styrofoam lids, shoes etc on the highway  Have to wonder who is being contracted to clean that road.

The title is misleading.

Today is sep 17. Is it opened 'today' or few months back ?

This flooding problem is also there at the ramp from Glenmarie (next to Volvo showroom) entering SS15. At the lowest point, water will collect after rain.

The title is misleading..
I have been changing titles recently - missed this one
It is very important that thread titles must reflect the contents of the discussion and do not contain any time-traps.
MasterQ is not new to our Forums and yet he make such a mistake, what can I say...

I have edited the title as you can see

No, I didn't make that mistake. I am one of those who are very very careful about titles of thread. At that time when I posted it, it was hot news fresh from the oven and obviously with first person experience I cannot title it as what it is now. The date 19Aug09 will not catch people's attention compare to the word TODAY. I agree with Ng to rename it 19Aug09 since by now it is yesterday's news. But I think there are many more vague titles that need changing but that is another story altogether. You will have to resign from your current job to work full time on this.
