Having a senior citizen meeting in the coffee-shop this evening. An old friend looking fatigue and looking for solution on how to cure snoring!
He told me that he hardly getting enough sleep at night due to the snoring that his wife is having unless he slept first.
I told him everyone snores occasionally. Even a baby or a beloved pet may snore! But snoring can affect the quantity and quality of your sleep. Poor sleep can lead to daytime fatigue, irritability and increased health problems. And, if your snoring is so loud that your bed partner can't sleep, you may end up banished from the bedroom. Sleeping in separate bedrooms doesn’t have to be the remedy for your snoring.
Any remedy?

Hi Roy... depending on the reason for the snoring, something can be done about it, but the person has to either go to a sleep center or see a doctor for it. Deviated septum, overweight, extreme tiredness, sleep apnea, irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) , etc can be the cause for snoring/bad sleep. Regular snorers don't get proper sleep either, so both parties involved can be affected if it goes on for long.

Try to get the snorer to see an ENT first to check and possibly get a referral for a sleep clinic if needed. Just need to figure out what is the cause of the snoring.
Since the time i detected my hubby's sleep disorder, he has been on the CPAP machine every night (he went to the sleep ctr for proper diagnosis) and so many of his fml members and friends hv since been on the CPAP as well. They are all so happy with it now, and their sleep quality is so much better. Also, because of that, his bp has gone down to a better level and medication has been reduced. He no longer feels tired at work too. Plus, i no longer hear any snoring. :D
There are remedies out there, just hv to be patient and hopefully find a doctor who can really help out in this matter.
Nasal stickers, laser surgery, CPAP, fancy tennis balls belted to the back, nasal sprays and the list goes on.. Those are the things out there; which works for the individual? Hard to say without proper diagnosis.

Good luck!

Remember to check with a doctor to find out what is the main cause.
