Its not the joke of the week. It is the joke to be told till the next erection.!! The decision makers (for now) should realise the importance of having a generation which understands the difference between an election and an erection and not go around screaming and shouting at words spoken they dont understand. Dont pray pray, after I ultra vires you then you know!!.

Ultra vires...LoL!! heck, must've have scratched his head real hard and said to himself " whatt??? Ultraman???" So if Ultra vires dunno, probably think mala fide, is some indian gal from ?? bali perhaps....

... so much for switching back to BM... at that, only maths & science... why? because a stack load of kids AND teachers from a certain group, cannot cope!!!

I like this comment :-If Ultraman had 1 wife - we call her Ultra Wife

If Ultraman had many wifes - we call her Ultra Vires.

So Karpal Singh insulted His highness by saying he has many wives. That is malicious with intent and seditious in nature. Upon question further, asked if the reporter understood what was the two words.
His reply were Mali dengan niat untuk sex dalam alam sekitar seperti di hutan. :D

These so called 'main stream media' has got people who don't understand English covering press conferences by lawyers and reporting on their comments. I think they report based on what they see and not what they hear or understand. If the guy is a very dramatic fella, then die la even though he may be expressing his love for his girlfriend, the fella would think that he wants to kill the girlfriend!! Because he dun understand what the heck the fella says!!. Sorry I ultra vires all of you!!

What transpires in the court is not important it all depends on the intergity of the Judge, so Karpal may not win this case..see todays front page of the Star, who has won the case and who is his lawyer?

It is okay to don't know what is "ultra vires", can't blame him much as he is just a victim of our education system, but before knowing what the heck Kapal is saying, they publish in the paper accusing him insulting sultan?

The issue is you cannot send someone who does not know the language in which the press conference is conducted and expect him to write an article in the newspaper based on the body language and hand and facial expressions alone. If they do not understand the word they should go and look it up in a dictionary before putting their comments and get the printed. They should be the ones charged for inciting public disorder!!! If what is being said is seditious all the more reason why the facts has to be checked over and over again. If they do not know the language better let them stay in the office where they can do no harm. Instead of letting them run loose and treating what they have reported as the truth!!

Which mean we cannot blame our education system since it is latin that we do not teach.

That aside, what transpire in court reflect poorly on our journalist professional pride. To jump the gun and wrote what he did against Kapal is a grave injustice on his part. To top it all, he don't even know what ultra vires mean. Haiya...just go and google the word lah!!!!

Based on his report, the government is charging Karpal Singh for sedition????? Shouldn't a retraction and apology be in order?

Which mean we cannot blame our education system since it is latin that we do not teach. It might be Latin, Bugbear, but it is no excuse for a journalist to not know what the heck he was reporting. Same goes to his editor etc and oh the AG Department who filed the sedition charges.

There are some basic Latin words which we all start learning from young and these are like et cetera, vice versa, et paribus, locus standi and of course this ultra vires.... I am sure some of us still remember the description by Queen Elizabeth of a lousy year as annus horribilis? I am sure many also know what coitus interruptus mean?

These are the basic and they are in economics and other subjects from secondary schools onwards...

All ACS boys throughout the country would remember their school motto Fide et Labore (Faith & Labour)?

Dont think so! Spoke to many graduates, in fact from so called esteemed U like Segi with MBA where a couple of them was hired as my parttimer, they might not pass your test. They might know et cetera like vice versa, the rest dont think so. In fact the word , coitus interruptus was mentioned during conversation, they did not know what the F it was all about. I told them that MBA should be defined as Managment Bachelor of Art in love and C I, should be the primary practice to avoid growing numbers.
They just shook thier head and still wondered what the heck did I said!

Sad... there was a session in our MBA class back in 1996 and we were discussing the effect of music on shopping decision making and the song Grease by Franki Valli was brought up as an example. Half the class have not heard of the film Grease nor John Travolta nor Olivia Newton-John, there you have it. Anyway, just not to spoil your day....

By the way Ijust wanna know, are all the court proceedings carried out in English or Bahasa?

zinglicious

Difference of I and we? Aisay...atau Awie....?
Confusinglah atau Pusinglah?
Kapak Singh or Same Value ?
Hey, when she passed her SPM, she got more choices from A to E. So it is not fair when she is given just two choices whteher she understand what is Ulltra vires or otherwise .
Neither is she given more than two choices of I and we.
It should be of multi choices A/Understand B/Understood C/ Understool D/ Undersea E/ Under****.
And the court is not fair!
She should be given the life lines such as
have one chance to make mistakes.
calling the education minister for help,
decision of RTM1 or RTM2 for options,
Asked Awie for professional opinons.
Therefore, I plead that the court to be fair as RTM has shown that they have many choices of programme screens such as Ultraman or Batman and Aisayman.

The RTM reporter did not even know which party Karpal Singh belongs to! Maybe she thought that "party" meant something else? Referring to birthday party? How can they let these type of people be witnesses? Can't wait to hear what the other witnesses are going to say!

It goes to show the quality of the people that these msm's have and they are depending on these people to come up with reports based on which they publish and scream and shout at other people. I suppose mediocricity is their creed and that's all they can muster to shore up their claims to greatness over fellow malaysians.

I was conducting an interview on behalf of a client here in Penang two weeks ago. My client is in trading business and imports and exports lotsa stuff to and from Europe and the US. He needed a good "treasurer" to track payments as well as to remit funds to suppliers including raising the LCs etc.

Me : Hmmm... you have an Honours degree in accounting from UXM... impressive...

Candidate : Thank you.

Me: We are looking for someone who could track the forex rates every other hour, specifically the USD and Euro vis-a-vis Ringgit... you think you can handle this?

Candidate : Euros? This currency belong to which country?

End of interview. :o

Kinda reminds of a past Bolehland version of 'Who wanna be a millionaire?" show. The 3rd question was "what does a cardiologist do for a living?" The local grad there was blur blur and he called a friend on a helpline.
