Glad to see something like this occuring.
I am curious though as to why our own Wakil Rakyats are not invited and why, since this is a matter for the Transport Ministry, could the ministry not organise its own public consultation on this matter?

I understand that because of the shortage of time, email invitations have been sent out to all Wakil Rakyats including YB Hannah Yeoh, all Councillors, Community Leaders and Residents.
If you can make it, be there.

What about the sri petaling extension ?
Can anybody ask when it will be held and where.Pucman, the people in Puchong had their dialogue about the Sri Petaling line back in 2006 or 2007 :p
Id still like to know why we in SJ have had to wait so long :)
Anyways, you can speak to Dato' Idrose of Prasarana afterwards and get info about the Sri Petaling extension.

Here are some sample questions. I do not know how appropriate they are given the constraint (must focus on the line extension) but they are important and need to be asked.
*Why did Prasarana not attend the session in September 2008?
*Why is the route not complete even though the government announced the LRT extension in 2006?
*What Municipal or State Plan does this extension come under?
*Is this extension in compliance with the Selangor State Structural Plan and Subang Jaya Draft Local Plan? Do you have the documents to show this?
*Why is the Kelana Jaya line being extended to Putra Heights?
*Do you have data to show that there is a need for an LRT capable of carrying 30,000 passengers per direction per hour (or 60,000 passengers per hour) in Subang Jaya, USJ and Putra Heights?
*How much will the extension cost? Is this extension the best option for the money?
*What other choices have you looked at?
*Where will the stations be located?
*How do you intend to mitigate traffic congestion and illegal/indiscriminate parking at these stations?
*What are your proposals for feeder bus service to these stations, to reduce the need for people to drive to the station?
*The LRT extension will not include Bandar Sunway, which is the most congested area in Subang Jaya and is also a major transport hub. How do you intend to provide public transport service to high density/busy/heavily congested areas like Bandar Sunway?
*How will residents/house owners be compensated for the inconvenience and health effects of LRT construction and LRT operations (including noise, dust, congestion, pollution from idling cars near stations, etc)?
*Will this compensation continue during the operations of the LRT including the period 7-10 years from now when more noise and operations issues will surface?
*Is it your intention to use the trains and guideways and stations as advertising space?
*Will you build the line in phases? When will the different phases start operations?
*How long will the construction take?
This is what I can think of off hand. So please consider these questions and ask one or two of them at the session.
Cheers, m

A few more questions about noise:
*What is the acceptable noise levels specified by the Jabatan Alam Sekitar?
*Have you conducted a noise impact assessment along the proposed route?
*What areas along the LRT route have been identified as posing a concern for noise impact levels?
*have you contacted the residents and businesses in these areas to hear from them about the noise impact of the proposed extension and discuss noise impact mitigation measures?

they should consider to have the LRT to pass and stop at Sunway pyramid as well.
adding one more question, can they plan to have the LRT not to pass thru residential area?

I dont think it's possible to have an LRT system that dont pass through any residential area at all. If there is, I have yet to experience one in all my travel throughout the world.

AllUrban, before we asked them all those technical questions which I believe they may not have the answer there and then, why don't we ask them these questions which they should have the answer.
1. While we appreciate MCA Kelana Jaya took effort ( I didn't want to use the word "initiative" as others earlier have done it and this effort by MCA is a "Me too can organise one as well") to conduct this event, is there any reason why my local representatives such as my Zon3 local councilor En Ismail Kamal, my beloved ADUN for Subang Jaya, YB Hannah Yeoh and my MIA MP for Kelana Jaya YB Loh Gwo Burne are all not invited. At least one of them confirmed having not received the sms invitation. And by the way, if this event is so important, you don't invite public figures via sms. I don't care you can divorce your spouse via sms but please don't do this to my ADUN and MP. Adhere to simple courtesy.
2. Why is YB Ong Tee Keat attending this event wearing the hat of a Wakil Rakyat? I don't remember voting for him to be my wakil rakyat for Kelana Jaya. Also what is the Wakil Rakyat for Pandan doing in Subang Jaya? Why is he afraid of coming as the Minister of Transport which is so much relevant to him. We don't need another observer as observers are known to observe and do nothing after that. Many of them have come and go and nothing is happening after the hearing/dialogue/briefing.
3. Why such an important event is held at the last minute giving many people who wanted to attend no time to reschedule their social/family programme? Is the LRT coming in next month that this event cannot even wait for another week?
4. Why isn't proper notice be published? Can it be at least published in The Star. Isn't The Star in a way owned by MCA Kelana Jaya? There were no poster or banners in publc places. I didn't see any as at 3pm. I was cruising along Jalan Tujuan, the road in front of Subang Parade and Jalan Kewajipan. And I was at Summit and Taipan between 12noon and 2.30pm. Unless MCA is telling me the banners are all hung inside the Multi Purpose Hall in 3K Complex where the venue is.
5. And lastly, I understand only 4,200 people who are registered with SJ Alert are invited as invitation is sent out via SJ Alert sms. Most of them are double invited when they received the emails via EMS Alert. Are they the only pontential users of the LRT that is coming into Subanag Jaya? If MCA Kelana Jaya depend on the SJRA, USJRA, BSRA, SJ Consumer Assn., Senior Citizen Club SJ, SJ Coffee Shop Assn., Persatuan Koir Song Ling of which my family and my immediate beighbours on my left and right are members of at least 4 of them, none said they have received any information from all these NGOs. That brings me to the point - Are all these NGOs all roped in blindly to lend credence that this is a joint community event?
6. With all those unanswered questions above, my anger has been diverted from MACC to MCCA......... er I mean MCA for not doing a proper job. I would like to reinterate that I am not a member of any political party but I smell something political here.

Im going to be there as a Subang Jaya resident and "interested party".
If Prasarana wants to be a political tool for the MCA that is their choice. If MCA wants to turn the LRT into a political tool then that is their choice. If they want to plan a last minute meeting with no publicity, let them take the heat.
But someone should ask why they did not come to the forum upon the invite from the ADUN last year. That is a totally fair question. Dato Idrose was not part of Prasarana at that time.

OK. To be fair to the organiser, while coming into USJ using Jalan Tujuan, I was glad to see the yellow banner announcing tomorrow's event. But most motorists would not be able to read the details on the 20 footer banner especially when it is hung high up on the pedestrian bridge at the SMK Subang Utama School. It is going to be worst when it is nightfall. The important wordings such as date and time and venue are too small especially when you are trying to read from a moving vehicle. Anyway, something is better than nothing.

Pucman, the people in Puchong had their dialogue about the Sri Petaling line back in 2006 or 2007 :p
Cheers, m
Nobody informed the public about this dialogue in the newspaper nor public areas I know of.
Anyway, how can they just discuss about the kelana jaya line alone as both of the lines has to be integrated and seen as a solution to the whole.
1. "*The LRT extension will not include Bandar Sunway, which is the most congested area in Subang Jaya and is also a major transport hub. "
And sunway is technically not part of Subang Jaya but part of Petaling Jaya.
2. http://www.usj.com.my/usjXpress/details.php3?table=usjXpress&ID=424
"He went on to explain that the new route would run from Subang and the first stop would link up to the existing KTM Komuter behind Carrefour. The route would then run along Persiaran Jenka, past the NPE and straight to KESAS. The route would then ride on the reserved land along KESAS before touching Kewajipan, turn towards Summit and then all the way along Kewajipan until it ends up at Putra Height. This is the route in brief. "
Why run along Jalan Jengka and not along Kewajipan right at the start ? You're going to miss important landmarks like Sunway Medical Center and 3K sports complex.
3. "this was due to technical problems and obstruction caused by the few flyover structures at Kewajipan"
So from the article, I presume they are not going to sunway due to the flyover obstruction and that is understandable. So there are several solutions to this problem. Sunway lagoon is too important a stop to be passed over.
eg. Have an extension along LDP to sunway from the sri petaling line

eg. Have an extension along LDP to sunway from the sri petaling linePucman, Bandar Sunway (PJS9 and PJS11) are actually under the MPSJ which makes them Subang Jaya. Sunway Mentari (PJS8 and 10) and the areas east of the LDP (PJS6 and PJS5) are part of the MBPJ and that makes them Petaling Jaya.
PJS7 as I recall is part of MPSJ but I could be wrong.
As for not using kewajipan from the start, the reason is because of the elevated Subang Kelana Link.
Regarding the extension to Sunway, Dato' Idrose did mention the idea of upgrading the Sunway monorail into a full size monorail to connect the Kelana Jaya and Sri Petaling lines.
That kind of line would be easier to run along a highway than a full size LRT.
