My youngest son is going to be 2 this 30th.

I bought him a cute sailor costume for an upcoming photography studio session. Unfortunately it doesn't come with a cap. Y'know, not the peaked type worn by officers but the ones worn by ratings, like Donald Duck.

Any ideas where to get such a cap? Costs?

Tks

my boy is turning 2 on the 30th too :)

as for the sailor hat, you could try the costume shops, they might have it.

there's a costume shop in one of the obscure corners in summit 1st floor. sorry, i do not have the number.

or try calling this place to ask:

FUN COSTUME SHOP 1.02 Wisma DiCor, Jln SS17/1A Subang Jaya 56352459

good luck

Actually I do have a Navy blue beret that I bought a coupla days ago from a Scouting supplies shop but after buying it I realise it doesn't really match.

Sailors don't wear berets over their uniforms.

I will take a walk along the famous Batu Ferringhi roadside stalls this Friday night and help you look for one, no promise. Thought I saw it before but it might not be children's size....

This is also great. I think our navy has an almost similar style.

Bad news lah Aaron... I walked the entire Batu Ferringhi stalls last Friday and Sunday but there was not a single stall amongst the hundreds selling navy costumes nor hat / cap lah.

I went down to the Chowrasta market along Penang Road and also cannot find any.

I went down to Swettenham Pier at Weld Quay (opposite the Fort Cornwallis) and they also do not have. The ones belonging to the Malaysian Navy sailors are too big for your 2-year old junior.

One of the navy men told me to try the shops / stalls along Lumut sea front because a lot of sailors buy the same uniforms there for their kids. Since you're in Ipoh, maybe take a short drive down to Lumut... afterall the fried noodles there should be enough motivation to make the trip?

Sorry I could not find the cap brader...

There is one shop along Jalan TAR possibly the turn out from Mydin where you can buy practically any uniform you like. I predict the hottest one is the navy submarine uniform when HMS Tun Najib Razak come to berth at Port Klang very soon.
