Hi,

I am looking for a new laptop, but knows nuts about it.

Would appreciate if anyone here can give advice on brand, model, and price. I just need a simple one without all the additional gadgets.

Thanks in advance.

Everyone would have their own brand preference and experience, hence in general its difficult to provide advice. Generally I would prefer compaq/HP

I would suggest, go for a window shopping and a feel for the keyboard and general functionality, note down its specs and then make a pick.

If you are looking for a top of the range, "BMW" model, without paying through your nose, consider this.

well guy, its hard to determine 'what' cos it all depends on needs/budget but i'll, have a go.

the mac - if budget is not an issue then you have to consider a mac. its not really that expensive anyway as the new versions start from rm4.4k with 2.26 gigahtz. and while i used to be a pc user i found out after a very long time that mac just takes the cake, no matter how you look at it. and dont let the name frighten you. theres nothing scary about a mac. no matter what anybody says. we just tend to always play safe.

dell - a decent brand to consider is dell because their after sales service is the best. hands down. so if you want to play safe and youre concerned about issues and problems then i'd go with a dell.

fujitsu - probably the only brand thats still made in japan. build quality is excellent.

you would want a unit thats going to be trouble and naturally without all the bells and whistles so the 3 that i gave you is the best to consider.
and yes, i have thought of the sonys, toshibas and all.

cheers

p/s let us know what you finally decided.
