Hi Everyone,

Pastor Guy has asked me to share my stories about recent road incidents which I really apologised have taken so long due to my many demands in time as mom to a very very active, demanding, emotional, etc... 2-year old toddler!

I have recently experienced a near attempted robbery while I was in the car (with Evan) and had friends who experienced the same few weeks later. During this very tough and difficult financial crisis, the cases of road robberies (or any kind of robbery) are getting rampant and we need to be watchful wherever we go (at any time of the day). We need to keep our families and loved ones in prayer at all times.

Few weeks ago while I was taking Evan back from my mom's place, I experienced an attempted robbery while I was still in my car with Evan! A screeching sound of a motorcyle behind initially had me wondering if an accident occured. But to my shock, the second motorcyclist flew onto the window of my passenger seat and started using his helmet and another sharp object to break the glass. At first I was still wondering whether the guy had an accident and flew onto my window (cos I don't see ppl flying to your window everyday!!) Then after 2 attempts to whack the glass, I knew he was trying to shatter it. It happened really fast and I couldn't escape and drive away because I was sandwiched between cars at the traffic light (along 17/1 just before turning to Damansara Highway ). All I could do was pray...and after 4-5 times of very hard whacking he gave up. My glass didn't shatter because I had installed a security film that holds the glass together.... although there were tiny pieces of the side that had already landed on the passenger seat.

To my horror, as the traffic light had not turned green yet, the guy immediately targeted another car on the opposite side of the road, and I am very sure the guy didn't have time to see if there was any handbag or items in the car because within less than 10 seconds he started smashing her window as well. This was an old car with a woman in her 40-50s. He took her belongings. Obviously she was screaming and nobody could do anything as the traffic light turned green and everybody left.

I had to take a slow drive home as the glass to the side of the window was slowly crumbling, but am so thankful that the glass didn't completely shatter and Evan was not shaken by the incident. And I had lock all my doors! But I still had the image of the man's evil look in my mind over the next few days. I had never seen such an evil look upfront and upclose before!

2 weeks later, a close friend experienced the same thing. I had just shared with her my experience the week before and she was the only one who had installed security films to her windows as well. She was going to a shop in Old Klang Road with her sister. She came down from the car while her sister sat at the passenger seat to wait for her. (It is advisable for everyone to leave the car and not wait inside nowadays!) A man came to the passenger seat window (where her sister was) and started smashing the window with a sharp object. Obviously it took a while to shatter the glass due to the film, but because the car was parked and he had more time, he continued whacking until the whole glass piece shattered. This was at 3 p.m. in the afternoon. After screaming her lungs out, the guy fled without taking her bag but she was bleeding due to the glass falling on her and in trauma. Really thank God the glass didn't go into her eye (nearly did!).

There are actually more cases from my friends relatives..mostly at traffic lights. This incidents just proves to warn us over and over again to be wary of our surroundings. ...and esp ladies (cos we are the main targets!) to hide your bags or don't carry any bags if you can, to avoid trouble. Let's continue to pray for safety everywhere we are, at anytime of the day.

Thanks!

Sounds terrible. Well, last week, I was going to my mom-inlaw's hse in USJ11, and was driving along USJ11/1. Saw 2 guys holding a metal rod (about 3 feet length) on a motorbike, with one end of the rod touching the road...screeching. They are moving very very slowly. I do not know what are they doing and whether these guys are bad/good. As I was coming from behind them, I don't feel comfortable as was still thinking about Hannah's incident in the same area too. I immediately turn into 11/1A and drive away as quickly but safely . Didn't know whether I had over react but better safe than sorry. I make a big round and went home instead as I have my son with me and wouldn't want to risk anything even though though some may think I overreacted. Its just not right for someone to hold a rod screeching on the road while moving so very slowly in a bike, you'll know what I mean if you were there.!

I'm sorry, but if this is the kind of attitude you have, we are never going to catch criminals. All you need to do is call, Let the police check on them. Thats not too difficults right??

Please do not wait till a crime happens before you call the Police.

The moment you feel uncomfortable with any situation just get the Police to check on it.

OK. pls advice if there is a next time I were to see such thing again, should I call 999? Tell them I saw 2 guys on a motorbike holding a metal rod, going round a housing area, motorbike no XXX, pls come check them out. Is that what I should do? Will they also ask for my info and ask me to wait at a certain place for the police to arrive? Coz if so, I do not want to put my son's life in danger. Robert, if you have a better police tel # to provide, pls let me know coz I am truely fed up with this 999.
I was involved in a road accident 10 years ago (Fed Hway) near Angkasapuri. I called 999 coz during that time can't think of any # to call. The accident involved about 4 cars at that time. It took me sooooo long and finally I got thru. I told the police what happened. They tell me to call another # as this is not the # to call. I told them all I am doing now is reporting a road accident that involved 4 cars, pls send help and here they are directing me to call another #.! They say the # they gave me is the correct # to call. OK I was furious and did called they # given. Then the Mr Uniform on the other line says I should call another # since its KL territory and not Selangor!! You see lah Robert, if there's an injured person there at that time, I think already DEAD lah!
Another case is when I was staying in Tmn Mutiara Klang some few years ago. During CNY eve, Klang is like a war zone...with fire crackers and all. I was unlucky as staying opposite some very non considerate neighbors at that time. My son, just a few months old was zzz, and knowing there will be firecrackers at midnite, I had put music on and due to A/C room with music, hoping the loud noise would not frighten him. Then midnite and it happened. This neighbor kinda like blasted about RM10,000 worth of rockets crackers. From 12 midnite - 3am (non stop) and best of all he place the boxes of rockets flyers in the middle of the road and not infront of his house thus disturbing the whole neighborhood esp us as it was like 10 feet from my gate. I waited for 1/2 hour but it still doesn't stop. Some of the burnt pieces flew into my porch as well as my next door neighbors'. I had no choice coz its getting dangerous thinking the rockets might even fly into my compound and burst one of my windows. So I called 103 to get the Klang Police #. You know what Robert? I was told "memang macam ini sekarang. Kita tidak boleh buat apa. Nanti sampai sana sudah berhenti, habis nak saman siapa. U boleh cakap siapa buat tapi dia cakap tak ada malahan letak di tengah jalan susah buat case". I even told him to listen to all the explosion which is happening now. HE told me "saya dapat dengar, memang teruk tapi bukan you seorang yang complain. Satu Klang pun complain. kita tak cukup orang pergi. sorry lah". That's what I got from the Officers in Blue.
Then there's another case where another neighbor staying one row behind (Klang), who was a truck driver. Always comes home with a whole truck load of about I think 100 gas cylinders. Its some sort of a 2 tonne truck. He used to park the truck in open air by the side of a playground, very near to houses. During weekends, the truck would be there 24hrs. Now isn't this dangerous?? Someone or something may just lit up and explode the cylinders, burnt cig'tte buds, hot sun, or whatever..... I called the police coz I do not know what else to do. The safety of the neighborhood is at risk. They told me this is under MPK... I called MPK and gave them the truck #. Obviously I didn't know who the driver is and which house he stays. YOu know what, MPK told me they can't do anything coz not relevant info given. If I want them to give this guy a warning/saman not to park in residential area, I have to check it out for MPK where he stays. If not they told me to call JPJ to complain. My hubby told me this is all craps!! Now I have to go around like an investigator doing work for the police/MPK/JPJ. From the truck #, they could have known which co owns the vehicle and get straight to work. Then after giving them the address to where this guy stays, PMK wanted my contact and address as if need to witness. Now, if this guy were to get a saman and knows that I am the one who made the complain, what do you think he will do? My hubby was attached overseas at that time.
Its not that I have this TIDAK KISAH attitude...I too want to stay in a safe neighborhood, but sometimes just a woman and a kid in the car, I have my kids safety to consider.
I even have a friend who complain about their neighbor to the police for loud noises after midnite. She told me she didn't even utter anything to any neighbors there as mostly all of them kept to themselves. So should be safe if she made this complain. I thought her info will not be exposed but after the police came, the next day my friend had 2 flat tyres. The tyres were stabbed with a knife. So it looks like a warning to her! She had to get a mechanic to come to her house to fix them tyres as can't run with 2....
If we are 100% sure our info will be kept secret by the authority then I am oblidge to make any complains....then again, how is it with the SJ POlice?? Attitude and all? I hope they are not like the Klang ones coz that's one main reason I couldn't stand living in Klang.

I must say that our relationship with all the Polis in Subang Jaya is special.

A lot of people don't understand that this is possible, but it is. That is the reason why the residents in Subang Jaya have direct access to all the OCS of the Balais.

We also have direct access to the OCPD of Subang Jaya and also the CPO of Selangor.

All that is required is that we treat the Police in the Subang Jaya District with the proper respect, they will treat us with due respect in return.

and when i see the patrol car parked in the shadows, at some back row of shophouses in ss19, I will stop next to it and say, "Officers, terima Kasih!"
The benefit of doubt is given to the cops that they are present in case of any attempt to break in via the rear entrance...

Or when I see them conducting a road block ..I will honk, flash a big smile, show a thump-up, roll down the window and yell 'Bagus!

ANd I share my blessings and joy of livin' in ss17 with the balai, with a box of kum for CNY and a cake for Hari Raya.

Small gestures go a long way!

Yang Boleh respek PDRM latotupai believe it or not!
