Intolerable cruelty - KL mayor to investigate TV3 report on inhumane killing of dogs and cats (http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?file=/2009/2/6/central/3204204&sec=central)

What a horrible thing to do to animals.

The problem in Malaysia is that the municipal fellas [when they wear the enforcement uniforms] think that they can do anything and everything with impunity!
MPSJ has done it, MPAJ has done it and now DBKL is caught [RED HANDED] doing it.... and tomorrow they will come out and say that things was done - was done, and they would ensure it would not be repeated... till we forget again...

Certain religion hates dogs due to wrong interpretation of their holy book. Many of their scholars & religious leaders spew so much hatred on this animal that to torture them and kill them in a very cruel manner is deemed all right. They are merely fulfilling their religious obligation...maybe even performing a 'jihad/religious duty/merit' to gain entry to heaven.

Many have are blursotong or simply ignor that

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" - Mahatma Ghandi

Any surprise why these councils itsybitsy lowgrade dog-catcher/killers are so cruel? Simply look at the 'leaders' of this bolehland ....so full of hankypanky, weaknesses and immoralities? where got road to be 'great'?

Not all lah, Tupai. My neighbor here in Batu Ferringhi is a devout Muslim and he always leave his food scraps in a plastic tray and leave it outside the gate for 1 or 2 strays in my area.

He even clean the plastic tray himself by spraying it with a water hose... I don't think he hates dogs in any way, just that he doesn't come in contact with them, thats all.

I wrote an article for SJEcho about that problem. According to a Sun report, apparently MPSJ is buying a gadget which shoots a net over stray dogs to catch them. Each device costs about RM2000 and the net has to be refilled each time after use with a RM10 cartridge. Once the stray is caught how are they going to dispose of it? They catch the stray humanely but the disposal of it is another matter. Club the poor thing to death..or I don't want to think about it.

To me the more serious problem is STRAY CATS. These pesky felines are allowed to wander all over Subang Jaya. They invade our homes to eat food not properly covered. They call to each other at night during their mating season and annoy us. Some of them are also not very healthy and are scarred as the result of fights..but nothing is done about them! What the ...... is going on? Aren't these a menace too. If MPSJ wants to catch stray dogs, catch stray cats too!

I am not saying all of them...I am saying some of them lah.

My Tok Haji neighbor loves my Bitch too...heck! he even bought a lookalike Bitch tissue box-cover for me when he returned form his overseas hols! And he once said, he prefers dogs over other pets...

Then i have another buddy, who once KO'd 3 guys over their cruel act of pouring hot drink onto a stray, in the mamak stall...he's a devout muslim and an Xcommando! :D ...then i am also 'related' (he said one ok,, not me...ah!) to a certain royalty cos he gave me a Spitz pup and he got so many of 'em white furry lots running all over his eye popping BIG bungalow! And he with his whole family is also very religious...I need not go on lah. :D

Its those who misinterpreted the hadith who went about infliciting cruelty to 'em poor doggies. Sedih tapi Benar!

If you don't want the same cruelty to happen to dogs then why impose the same cruelty to cats ? Both of them have the right to live and also need food just like we do.

Believe me, dogs also make a lot of noise and not just cats. That's why we have to be immune to them.

To prevent cats from entering houses, you can buy one of those meshes to put on your gate.

I know of one Muslim family (son of an ex-MB) living in a big piece of estate in Tanamera (Sg Buloh) and he keeps several English Pointers for pets and also to be his 'guide' when he goes riding his horse into the estate... so that if there is any cobra along the way, the dogs will point them out first or else he will be thrown off his horse should the cobra surprise the horsey....

I think those people who are cruel to animals are really misinformed and badly influenced since young that it is good to whack those doggies which are haram and they might be doing the right and good thing for the religion. I just hope the 'education' improves and this misconception is erased....

Hey..I did not say that the cats should be subjected to cruelty..just to catch them. How MPSJ deals with them will reflect their treatment of animals... not me. Meshes across gates are useless against cats. Have you seen the cats walk all over your roof. These cats would suddenly walk across my upstairs bedroom window sills. Are you suggesting that I mesh up all my windows or keep all my windows and doors shut because you want to be kind to these felines and support their right to exist? Why not right of stray dogs to exist, too? That will be fun! Blame it on irresponsible owners of cats and dogs who just throw them away in the first place. What I am proposing is a balanced action by MPSJ to get rid of both menaces. And we can never be immune to them.

Simply look at the 'leaders' of this bolehland ....

According to Vedic karmic law, the king will be ultimately held accountable for all & every act of random cruelty upon defenseless living entities in his kingdom. He is actually responsible for the well being of all his subjects, two legs and four.
