Dear All

Please be alerted of motorcyclist no WGX2844 ( I think it is a honda cub) who claimed to be a Telekom technician. This above average height malay guy of about early thirties came to my house around 6pm and said my house phone was faulty. He blamed my back neighbours for trying to fix the phone himself resulting with the neighbours complaining of faulty lines.

He probably surveyed that the street was quiet at that time, parked his vehicle and approached us saying that our line is faulty, asked us to rechecked our line. I allowed him to come in. He had not anticipate my teenage son and my husband presence. He came in and asked to be shown the back of the house, asked to see upstairs the line socket, my son was watching him and he tried to get him distracted asking for a scissor and tried to get him to test the laptop whether can get connected , then came downstairs and opened the phone socket , commenting my internet, and laptops may not be working ,opened the sockets of the other line (internet). The upstair wiring were cut and now left dangling, sockets are left opened .
He left without fixing up this lines and said that the wiring are old and he will be back with new wirings. He never came back. Maybe tomorrow with accomplices
to do ................
He felt hopeless today as we were all eyeing his hands while he move all over the house and talking things which did not make sense. He wore a dark blue tshirt with "TM"
printed at the back.

What can you suggest, we are very suspicious of him.

Hi

Forgot to mention the incident happen in SS12/1 c Subang Jaya Thinking back , that guy really have ulterior motive, I also remembered he was checking on the window and asked 3 times how come the grille cannot be open, you know the old houses the grille was not made with emergency exit.I was not even aware of my house phone faulty and I didnt even made any report to the Telekom, After he left , I made a report to Telekom of the dangling wire and the opened socket,

Today at 1 pm two of them turned up with identification and inspected the socket and went upstairs to see the wiring. They confirmed with me that indeed its not the job of their tehnician and I was lucky nothing was stolen, How could I be so blurred?

I must give thanks to GOD

Helen,

He's probably doing reconnaisance in and around your house, noting anything is worth stealing or not. Entry and escape routes. Or worse, planning on a rape. He didn't count on your husband or somebody else being inside the house as well.

I'd say you better put extra locks on your grills, back and front, upstairs and downstairs.

While you're at it, better make a police report. Though no crime has been committed yet but... why wait? At least let the police investigate him for impersonating Telekom personnel.

The reg plate number will come in handy. Spread out the word around your neighbourhood. He may attempt the same thing with your neighbours.

I have even asked my wife not to let any strangers in, not the gas man, not the old newspaper man etc. while I'm not around. Better be safe than sorry.

This afternoon, a guy came to my house ringing the bell. He claimed he is from Telekom and that "I made a report". Since I'm on the alert about this scam I said "salah rumah" and closed the door. Noted him going to neighbour's house and quickly called the police. Police came to investigate and while his motorbike was still in neighbour's house the so-called telekom guy vanished into thin air.

Another neighbour identified the motorbike that stopped by his home the previous day and stole his handphone when he was let in to repair streamyx.

Moral of this incident: Be alert

Area: SS12
